Amazon Banners

So, just a heads up, or a reminder, about Amazon banners.

Starting July 25, you’ll no longer be able to create banners for your content.

After August 25, existing banner placements will not work.

Perhaps now is the time to think about what you are going to put in their place, instead.

Obviously, for your visitors and for Google, you don't want to have broken links on your site.

Amazon suggests that you could replace them with appropriate Bounty offers instead.

This won't affect your product links that you acquire through the Site Stripe bar, only banners.

Thanks for reading.

Hey Diane,

Thanks for the heads up.

Now, how do I remove the banners easily?

I went to Appearances, then clicked on Widget. But, I'm not seeing where to remove the banner links.

My theme is Twenty twenty. If I could change to GeneratePress I would.

Have a great day my friend.

Hi - if it's in your sidebar, I presume you added it as a Custom HTML widget?

If so, find the actual block in your widgets, and click anywhere in the block.

In the pop up menu that now appears, click on the 3 dots, and click remove.

Or, because there's over a month yet, you could find another offer, and just change the HTML in the block.

Why can't you change to GeneratePress?

Thank you, Diane.

It's not that I can't change to GeneratePress.

Unfamiliar things online throw me off. I'm not a techy like you and sometimes I literally get panic attacks.

I'm a set it and hope it works gal online.

With expert guidance, I know I can and will get it done later on.

Thank you once more my friend.

Have a blessed day.

All the best,
Maxine

You could ask Site Support to set up a staging site, where they essentially duplicate your site so you can test new things without it affecting your real site.

But if it would make you uncomfortable, then please stay as you are!

Thank you for the reminder
