What If?

What if you

  • make the decision to build your affiliate site to succeed
find time to study and learn the process
schedule time to work on your site
  • refuse to give up when the going gets difficult
  • ask for help when you need it
  • keep moving forward, even when the progress is slow

"Influential people are never satisfied with the status quo. They're the ones who constantly ask, 'What if?' and 'Why not?' They're not afraid to challenge conventional wisdom, and they don't disrupt things for the sake of being disruptive; they do it to make things better."

--- Travis Bradberry

Often it seems that I have to try a few closed doors before I get to the open one. That can be frustrating, but then I remember that it's just a number. I don't always know which number will be the unlocked door. It would be nice to know! But if I imagine that the number is 100, then if it's only 27, it's a nice surprise!

Those closed doors are things that don't work for whatever reason. Maybe they aren't really doors but merely painted that way. Perhaps they are locked and it's not my door to unlock. That's all good. I'm looking for the one that unlocks for me to find my next step, my treasure.

The truth is, we just have to keep trying!

Persistence brings the ultimate payoff.

The game is lost as soon as you quit.

My favorite Star Wars quote is from the diminutive yet very wise Yoda.

“Do. Or do not. There is no try.”

Master Yoda, in The Empire Strikes Back

Trying implies that we might actually fail. "I'll try" says that I might. By instead thinking that "I will" you don't leave the option for failure.

What if your wedding vows said, "We'll give this a try and see if it works."?

Should a surgeon begin cutting with the statement, "Let's try to see if we can do this procedure."?

If I need surgery, I'd rather have a confident surgeon who believes he can do it.

Our lives are like that. If we start something with the intent to "give it a try," we are implying that we are open to failure. That might be fine for making a trial run of a souffle but I would not want to use that thought process when creating a special event dinner for guests.

So perhaps we should forget the saying, "Keep Trying."

Let's keep motivated with "Keep Moving Forward!"

For with forward movement, we will each ou goals!

Are you planning to TRY to make your affiliate business work? Instead, consider stating you WILL make it work!

Nice post and good points! Thank you for sharing, Diane!

Thank you, Meena!
Have a wonderful day, my friend.

You're most welcome, Diane!

May you have a wonderful day and weekend a head too.

Love your blog post Diane, very inspiring. Trying has recently been a negative word in my dictionary, it really leads to a negative mindset. I think mindset should be part of the training here in WA, maybe at the beginning. Because if people get into whatever online business niche they choose without a positive mindset and only the try factor in their mind, they will fail. The statistics show that only 10% of online businesses succeed. That’s a whooping 90% that fail. Mindset is a very big part. Anyway we should all listen to Master Yoda's wise words. Do. Or do not. There is no try.

All the best to you and your online business Diane.

Cheers 👍😀

Jason.

That's a sobering statistic, Jason. Let's keep our businesses in the 10%!

I like the concept of let’s move forward as opposed to let’s try.

It does seem more positive, I think. Thanks, Jim!

Great post Diane.

I believe it's all about the mind. As you said, if we TRY to do something we open ourselves up to potential failure.

If we convince ourselves that we WILL do something then there are no limits to the success we can achieve.

Thanks for the inspiration and have a fantastic day my friend!

You said it quite well!
Thank you, I hope your day is fantastic, as well!

Thanks a lot Diane!

So true...try is not an action. I recall the Yoda quote, grin, and another one comes to mind, yet I do not recall from whence it came...'Try o make a fist'...You either do, or you don't. (this might have been the wise words from my sensei when I first began martial arts...)

And what is wonderful about opening that door or window when you find it, is more open doors and windows will appear. Although, there is a wicked sense of humor as the closure of said windows and doors could happen at any moment, so do not delay!

Note: wouldn't it be great if our desktop keyboards had auto correct capabilities like we have on our phones...

It does sometimes seem like we need to leap through the open door or window before it slams shut on us and smashes into us (ouch!)

Yes, but we also need to have faith in ourselves to make that leap...before it shuts...grin

ouch indeed, and I agree, we definitely need faith in ourselves to take the plunge- without it issues can easily to quitting even ones with simple solutions.

Now THAT, would be fantastic, Rudy! (The autocorrect)

Jeff

Yes, that is also true!

Yes, that is so true!

Right!?...grin.

I would LOVE it, Rudy!

Me too!

😎👍👍
