Generating Traffic

Hello, I am not sure if this would be a blog or just a nugget of information I found cruising the net. I was wondering how could I generate traffic to my site. What I learned that stuck out to me was being a team player within your niche. What I mean is you need to participate (honestly) in other discussions regularly and build some credibility within these forums (no drive-by). Just comment and share your thoughts. After maybe three of four comments and replies from others within the same discussion, sometimes the author will allow you to share your link once they approve it having creditable information that matters to what he/she topic of discussion was. Let me know if anyone has been a team player in their niche on the web.
