Don't quit your day job, making money here ranges from half year with a start of almost covering your fees, to 4 years and almost making a real living.
If you are like me and money motivated it is a hard road cause their really is no money coming in. So I think in your case you are asking how do we have the will to keep working for free?
Also you talk about money management? You don't need that here starting off! Just write down your expenses! ha!
You need a niche you can enjoy whether there is no money coming in from it or not. That is one way to make it. If we do not enjoy doing something or we have to force ourselves, it will not be long before we are long gone.

Too true Rick, too true.
Money Management is necessary in general, not just here. Writing down your expenses is a great step, but think about a loner making less than 40k a year and how they have to live within their means. There's a niche there whether I write about it or not.
It is very true that you have to enjoy what your writing about, and then the money will follow. Love what you do, eh?
Thanks for your input Rick!

Write down your vision and your goals and have them displayed where you can see them always, then feed your vision

I love this idea and do it myself. Personally I like to add a few 'quick-wins' and few long term goals that are something to reach for, that way I don't get too discouraged as I go for the longer termed ones.

My credit card statement arrived last week and my yearly premium payment is on it. I've put it up where I can see it all the time as a means of reminding me that I NEED a return on that financial investment and it is up to me to now invest the time into my site to see that return materialise. Surely, that is my motivation.

It's funny how seeing where you need to be is a great motivator for getting there. The "carrot" for me is getting a better(or being able to quit) my job. :-)

I don't trick myself. I keep thinking about my current career and the frustration that comes from it. I also eminent myself just how important time with family is and how I enjoy it. For handy dandy modern tools, I have been using smart phone, PC with cloud computing. Keeps your files at your finger tips.

I hear that loud and clear. Sometimes I'll get home from work so frustrated I'll just kick into high gear and knock out as much affiliate work as I can.
I've been interested in building the cloud, but I'm not really sure what to use. I've been using apache's free office suite, but with school and some fiction writers I know have been suggesting I bite the bullet and go to the Microsoft suite with OneCloud. What do you use kbyer?

Freebie include: Google drive, outlook.com account with one drive. They include docs, cel, etc........another is box.com. Main thing s you can use different devices to access stored info. I use chrome for access to bookmarks and such. Thanks, Ken

Yes, I'm thinking the same thing, I should just stick with Apple. There more expensive though.

I actually bought a Windows smart phone a while ago, and I hate it. If I touch the phone the wrong way all the windows go huge and I lose the box for the phone, even with the lock screen. I try to read positive or inspirational quotes and some business magazines online.

I use an iPhone myself, it's been working very nicely for what I use it for, since I'm still in school, I've decided to go ahead and invest in an iPad mini. Seems like works pretty well too, and I've enjoyed playing with the image editing software.

Thanks arick. I will

Hey Philip,

Anyone calling you claiming to be from Wealthy Affiliate is a scammer and not associated with WA at all. We will NEVER call you as we do not collect your telephone number or contact information like this.

The reason you are getting called is because your domain is not privately registered. Regardless what hosting company you are with, if you do not make your contact details private, anyone can call you about your domain.

There are tons of scams out there on the Internet and this is just one of them that has been around since the dawn of the net its self.

Here's a post about this that we made about this here:

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/kyle/blog/global-educators-inc-is-a-poaching-scam

I suggest that you go to your domain registrar and add on private registration so that your details about your domain are not open to everyone that wants to look at them.

Carson

Thanks Carson!! I will definitely have to talk to godaddy and get that fixed. I do love how responsive and helpful everyone here at WA is.
