When I was a young lad growing up in Ohio, I can remember my wise old pops gruffly telling me with regularity, "That and fifty cents will get you a cup of coffee."

Well perhaps in those days pops lol. Now you pay about five bucks. His words came to mind yesterday morning, as we woke up, poured our morning coffee, and sat down at the computer to check everything.

Facebook. Check. Nothing going on there.

Wealthy Affiliate. Check. Couple notifications on threads we're following.

YouTube. Check. Morning news complete.

Email. Check.....wait say what....WE MADE OUR FIRST AFFILIATE SALE!! HIGH FIVE!! Whaaaat are you SERIOUS!

Our eyes go wide with the sudden realization that Wealthy Affiliate truly does work.

.44 Cents. Our very first commission for CrystalsTheirMeaings.com.

Was it a landslide commission? Nope. But we felt like it was. It was concrete proof that we could do this, and that the Wealthy Affiliate community we have come to know was faith justly placed. It reignited the excitement all over again.Validation at last.

The words of my father rang in my ears once more. While it wasn't quite fifty cents it WAS a beginning.

I type these words as encouragement to those going through the steps and are perhaps struggling wondering will it EVER work?! It will. It is a marathon not a sprint.

Allow me to leave you with more wise words. Those that the great Jim Valvano spoke as he stared his death in the face. He said "Don't give up. Don't ever give up." We CAN do this.
