Tornadoes and Marketing
Have you every heard the addage "If you aim at everything, you'll hit nothing?" It's true, but not for tornadoes.
I know what you must be thinking "What do tornadoes and marketing have in common?" Well, tornadoes can aim at everything and hit it just by their sheer size and volume, but as business owners, we have to aim, and trutfully, that can be hard for some.
Guilty as charged!
Once I get going on something the ideas flood in and I find myself thinking, "That doesn't apply." That's not important, write them down and edit later. It may not apply and you may never use it, but it's there tucked safely away and not crowding the back of your mind keeping you awake.
This behemoth tornado was very close to me this evening! I live in Kansas and one this size hasn't been seen in years, thankfully.
But the moral of the story is, let your mind go with ideas and edit later. Don't dam up the creative process, but rather file what you can't use for later. Dig deep into your niche. Take aim!

Gret suggestion.
I call that process Brainstorming. When we used to do this at the start of my work projects, the rule was there were no bad suggestions. We wrote down any and everything on a white board.
Then something amazing used to happen. Ideas started connecting in a logical manner. This enabled us to sketch out the flow of the project.
Not everything got used, But at least it was there for future reference.

That's a worthy reminder. I have tried to be more organised by adding ideas and thoughts to the 'create new blog' section. Just a title and a few notes, save it and move on. I have just started doing the same with 'Site content' area as well. Like you said, you never know when it will become useful.
Yes indeed! I also write fiction so the mind has a tendency to wander. But you never know when one idea whether fiction of truth will meld together and make something awesome!

Great conclusion ... excellent advice. Were you in the Land of Oz when you achieved this clarity of thought?
Oh yes. I live here, have most all of my life. That bad boy in the image wasn't too far from where I live and work. That's an actual image of the tornado that blew through my neck of the woods.
