Affinity Of Affiliate Marketing
I've done a lot of different types of work for money. Not just in terms of employment (what jobs I worked) but also in terms of freelance. From E-commerce dropshipping to cutting grass to freelance coding online, I've done a lot.
That being said, I can't stress enough how much I love affiliate marketing not just as a source of income but as a business model. Not only do I love it but you should too!
Keep in mind that affiliate marketing is has been in existance for a long time, even before the internet. But the internet has added so much potential and power to affiliate marketing that it's potential can't be ignored.

Basics
Affiliate marketing is considered more beneficial than regular marketing which uses techniques such as ads. To understand the power of affiliate marketing, you need to see through the eyes of the business owner.
If you just opened your own landscape service and needed more customers to maintain your business, the regular default is to market. You make signs of your business, possibly use billboards or radio ads. This is quite common attempt to get leads, or paying customers.
But this method of marketing comes with a risk. You could spend $200 on signs and not get a single lead! Larger companies might spend thousands of dollars marketing take a loss.
This is where Affiliate marketing comes into play. Affiliates get paid ONLY when they bring a paying customer. Although Affiliate marketing doesn't bring a guarunteed lead within a certain period of time, it's guarunteed to have no risk. Because of this, Affiliates win when they get paid, and businesses win when they use affiliate marketing.
The creation of the internet brought about a few new powers to Affiliate marketing, such as more people that someone can reach, or an increase in passive income. Let's go over them.
Passive Income
This to me is the most important reason. For those of you who don't know what passive income is, we shall compare it to active income.
Active income is similar to being paid by the hour or paid by the client. Let's say you cut grass for a living. You aren't making money when you are asleep or not working. You only get paid when a lawn is mowed. If you get sick or hurt and can't work, you aren't making money.
Now think of Dole orange juice. Dole is being sold 24/7. When the CEO is asleep someone is buying his juice from a Walmart or online. He makes money in his sleep. Think of an author or music artist. While they are asleep they are selling books or songs, and therefore making money. Michael Jackson is dead, yet he STILL makes money, people STILL buy his music. Through passive income, this man makes more money dead than many make living!
Affiliate marketing is a great source of passive income. It takes a lot of active work to get started of course, but once you have an asset established it will continue to bear fruit year after year. You can literally earn commissions while you're asleep.
Profitable Research
Ever had an interest in something but didn't study it as much because you were busy making money? Welcome to affiliate marketing! You're not gonna get paid by the hour, but you will get paid for the research you provide that helps other people. Many people are interested in Anime, Pokemon, or other games and aren't getting paid fo their research. They study it out of interest. Had they affiliated with a company related to their interests they would have possibly made some money doing what they love! Who doesn't want to get paid to do what they enjoy?
Win/Win Situations
A true affiliate marketer doesn't try to get commissions by nagging visitor or multiple pop up windows, but by matching a customer who has a problem to a service/product that solves their problem. When you focus on a Win/Win situation you have the following conditions in you favor:
- People are MORE likely to start doing business with you!
- People are MORE likely to keep doing buisness! (you need this for the long term)
- You have a good reputation, which helps maintain your credibility
- You can sleep well at night.
Networking
You will meet cool people in affiliate marketing that will not only help/teach you, but will lead you to opportunity you wouldn't normally have. Affiliate marketers rarely are just affiliate marketers. They are people, who have lives and feelings and passions. And they have skills outside of affiliate marketing that may be relevant to you.
Saturation
In other business models, competition is not welcomed. When people find something that works, they usually don't want others joining in on the action. They're worried about you taking their money. When a lot of people try to get into a business where the supply is higher than demand it is referred to as 'saturation'.
I don't have this worry about affiliate marketing. First off, companies will always be making new products and services so it isn't going to be outdated. And affiliate marketing is not just global for big buiness like amazon but also for local businesses. So someone in the United Sttes wouln't necessarily be competiting with someone in Australia.
If you're new and overwhelemed, take a deep breath and take your time. This business model is a blessing.
