Progress!
For the last couple of weeks I have been trying to figure out how to increase my website speed on mobile and desktop. According to one site I tested it on my mobile speed was 35/100 and my desktop speed was 44/100. This was after a slight increase in speed.
So I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to get this increased. (I still have my hair by the way). I had looked at several other members suggestions through trainings and posts and the increase I posted above is as high as I ever got.
I was beginning to wonder if I would ever get it figured out. I was also beginning to wonder if it was my theme, even though I had a very friendly theme. Then I asked a question and another member suggested it my be my theme based on an answer I had given.
So I spent ALL day today researching themes trying to decide which one I felt I would be best for me. I finally came up with one and set it up and activated it. I went to check my speeds and would you believe 79/100 for mobile and 92/100 for desktop! This is a major improvement!! I even went incognito to see my website load and it was amazing!!!
I was a little scared about changing themes, because I wasn't sure how to do it exactly. But it was a piece of cake! I am so pleased to have a fast website now! I do have some things I need to figure out like my slider pages on the front and how to get my home page button in there! I may also have some other tweaking to do, but for now I am just happy to have the speed up!

Thank you! It does make me feel good! Now I don't have to think about it anymore! Just do some tweaking, which hopefully I can figure out!

That's where I was! I had been thinking I wanted to change my theme since I was not real happy with the way things looked, so I guess this was a good reason to do it!

I am already stoked every time I go on my site and it loads so fast! Now just have to get the tweaking done!
I have speed problems too according to site measurements, but I never imagined it would be down to the theme! Which theme were you on? I've looked at other themes quite a bit but 1 I can't decide on which one to change to and 2 I'm also nervous about changing it case it messes my site up.
When I had tried everything else to get my speed up and nothing was working, the only thing I hadn't changed was my theme. I spent all day yesterday searching for and researching themes before I switched.
I used the live preview to see how all the changes would look before I activated the theme because I was afraid of messing up my site as well!
I was using the arise theme and went with the sydney theme. I still have some tweaking to do, but at least my site is faster.

Yes it is! I was getting very frustrated! So glad someone else mentioned that it might be my theme! Just kind of validated what I was thinking!
Just remember when you change themes to have a back up of everything, not all themes are content friendly....
