My Two Cents Worth

I read a post recently from a member who felt that some posts, trainings, and questions should not be allowed on the WA forum. Now I believe he is entitled to his opinion, and I don’t totally disagree with him. However, I do not totally agree with him either.

Wealthy Affiliate is a great place to learn and build a foundation for an online business. I have never seen anything like this on the internet, and I don’t believe I ever will! With that being said, I also feel that this is a place for people to feel safe and share their successes, disappointments, struggles, motivation, ask questions, share knowledge, and so much more.

I know that it has made me feel better when I can share my successes and struggles with the WA community and know that I am not going to be judged but encouraged and loved for who I am, even though no one knows me personally.

I also like the idea of being able to reach out to other members and help them if I can. But I do not feel quite as knowledgeable as some already are to help as much as I would maybe like to! But I will continue to be everyone’s cheerleader when they need one!!

Getting back to the point as to why I am writing this. I am way behind in reading emails. Other things in my life have had to take precedence, so I am a good three weeks to a month behind in email. But for me, it is important that I read them because I may be encouraged, motivated, be able to encourage someone who has been struggling or celebrate their successes! I don’t wish to lose this.

At the same time, I do agree that some topics that you would share on Facebook or other social media, maybe should not be shared here. But then again, if Kyle and Carson feel the need to change the way the posts are done, then I do not oppose that. Kyle gave an excellent response to this post that I felt really made it clear.

I do not write posts often, but when I do they are about my successes, struggles, or maybe some other topic that does have some relevance to WA. I try, but that does not mean I am always successful.

I also agree with what Kyle said, in that if you do not wish to read something that you feel is irrelevant to WA then delete it and don’t read it. I won’t say there are posts I have felt are necessarily irrelevant, but there have been some that I have just not read for whatever reason, deleted them, and moved on.

I am not writing this post to make anyone angry with me or to hurt any feelings. When I read this post I had a very strong feeling on it and felt I needed to share how I felt. So if anyone is upset with what I have written then I wish to apologize right now, as that was not my intention.

I love this community and am very happy that I stumbled across it and joined! I have met so many wonderful people who I consider my friends. We are all unique and different and have our opinions on things.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and have a productive week ahead!

I don't know how anyone could be upset about your post Denise. i agree we have an awesome community here. We all have choices to make on a daily basis and we can choose what posts to read or not. Thanks Denise

I totally agree with you, Denise. Excellent post. :)

Thank you, Mike!

What you say is completely correct Denise. I don't like it when someone is blatantly self-promoting, but if they are struggling for whatever reason, then I will be there to try and help. I'm having my struggles with things at the moment and feel I am in a safe environment to share that and to let others know that they are not alone :)

Thank you! That is what I really love about this community is the support I know I will get when I am struggling!

Agreed ;-)

Thanks Denise for your blog. It was great. At times I choose not to read certain blogs. That is the beauty of choice. Lol. I like the way you express yourself. All the best

Hi Denise, I think it is wonderful post thank you for sharing. The thing that we need to remember is that WA is a paid membership. the right to blog is part of the deal. The other thing that I have noticed there are not a lot of members that take advantage of this aspect of the membership. So it is all good it seems to balance itself out. No need to apologize for anything.
I had the same thing happen, emails piling up sometimes we just have to bite the bullet and move on. start a fresh tomorrow. Sure we miss a few but we can catch quite a few by looking at the activity dashboard. best wishes in your endeavors.

Thank you for the support! It means a lot!

You have my 200% support.

Nothing wrong with anything you said and you certainly express your opinions respectfully and tactfully. Wish I could say the same about our politicians.

Oh, BTW this is the Steve Cox - I don't like politicians week! Just in case any did not notice !

2

Thank you, Steve! My husband has been watching that stuff and I leave the room! Just cannot stand to listen to it!

Me either I long for the days when we only got the news twice a day at dinner time and bed time.

Definitely!

I agree with you. This post is a good reminder that we can feel free to share our "successes, disappointments, struggles, motivation, ask questions, share knowledge, and so much more".
Thanks so much, Denise.

Thank you for your support, Rosa! When I read something that gives me a very strong feeling, then I feel the need to share. Thanks again!

Denise...Who in the world could be upset with you? You are so kindhearted that you are apologizing in advance. To paraphrase Love Story, WA means never having to say you're sorry. You're awesome, you're a constant reader, and thanks for the great post!-Rick :)

2

Thank you! That means a lot! But like I said, I had very strong feelings about what was written and felt it better written in a post. I guess that's the sensitive person coming out in me. I don't like to upset people!

2

Me neither, Denise, but some people exist in that state. :)
