Hello, my background consists of sales and marketing. I had a little cloud based software company for about 10 years. The economy started eroding in 2008 which ultimately caused me to close the doors. I'm looking to sharpen my skills with a goal to earn 10K a month from anywhere in the US.

Very cool Mark! Setting goals is an important step because it keeps you focused, so I'm glad you decided to fill out the questions. I remember when I started, my goal was to earn an average American wage while I was working in China. I was very surprised when it actually worked, and then I went far beyond that first goal.
Your goals are absolutely realistic, and with consistent effort + the help of the Wealthy Affiliate Community, you are going to start seeing some surprising results!

Hey Mark, I just wanted to check in and see if had a chance to start exploring Wealthy Affiliate. If you haven't started the Online Entrepreneur Certification Course - that's the best place to start. It'll take you through the whole process of how to start your website and how the making money stuff works.
Click the green"Get Started Here" button on the left.
PS. One thing people get stuck on a lot is picking a topic or "niche" for their website. If you are having trouble thinking of something to make your website about let me know and we can figure it out together.
PSS. Just about every new member wants to see some success stories! There are too many to list, but here are a few of my favorites: I got my first Amazon check yesterday on over $1000! Wow! I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".
I know, same thing happened to me when I started.
I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.
Get back to me when you get the chance! :)

Hi Natheniell,
I know you get 25 personal domain sites and 25 sub-domain sites on WA when you go premium. Do you recommend working only with top level domains for better conversion numbers and SEO or do the yoursitedotsiterubixdotcom websites produce the same results?
Thanks!

I'd recommend just using TLDs for your main website. Subdomains are great for testing websites, or for free members, or doing a 'backburner' project you don't want to invest too much money into. For your main website, a .com is always what I would choose since they rank better, faster, and have more visitor trust.

Thanks for the feedback. Two more questions. 1) I wanted to get your opinion on my first niche. Cat Condos aka cat furniture; people are crazy about their animals. 2) I just finished building my first site before finding Wealth Affiliate. It may not be the format that WA recommends but I wanted to get your feedback and you won't hurt my feelings so give me your opinion. It's at uberdriverreferralcodes.com.
Thanks Nathaniell!

Cat Condos is a great niche. It's a perfect narrow market, and definitely has some good products you can recommend.
As for your Uber referral code site, do you have a traffic strategy for it? I think it may be hard to rank a website like that without some kind of paid strategy or content ideas for free traffic. One more issue could be that Uber is a trademarked term Domains With Trademarks In Them: Not A Great Idea But I know that some people have general "rideshare" sites that do well making money with referral codes and singup bonuses, but they have a broader range of topics they talk about related to ridesharing, not just using referral codes.

Thanks for the feedback Nathaniell. I picked up LoveOurCat.com for the cat condo niche and will pursue this effort as my first WA project. I appreciate your opinion on the Uber referral code site. I just wanted to see if that format works at WA or if most go with a standard Blog look / feel. That was technically my first web build. I signed up with Uber to see if I could tap into the referral code opportunity and I think that ship has almost sailed for Uber. I saw a lot of Uber named websites like Uberreferral.com and Uberkit.com, etc., and naively picked up uberreferralcodes.com. I came to the same conclusion you did about trademark so I picked up DriveEarnSpend.com so I can take down the other. My strategy was to learn SEO techniques and see if I could drive organic searches to the site. In the process I picked up some site optimization skills too. So it was a great learning experience that set the table for finding WA through your website "onemorecupof-coffee". Timing is everything. Thanks again Nathaniell!

You can definitely work a new angle with your driveearnspend.com site, and I'll be you could even tie it into WA, and make some referrals that way. What better way to spend your downtime as diver, than writing articles for your online business?
