Trying to understand what makes people keep reading

What makes one stay or leave?

I start reading something and stop reading after a few lines.

And then there is something that I keep reading without even noticing how I reached the end.

This made me pause and think - what really made the difference?

One thing that struck me was this:when content felt too perfect or too heavy, it become harder to stay with it.

Then I thought I should apply this insight to my own content. And I am trying !

Some people do not leave because they do not care

Many times, people do not stop reading because they are not interested.

They leave because something starts to feel difficult.

Maybe they feel the writing to be too packed. Or they feel the content to be ultra polished.

Or maybe they feel it requires too much effort to keep going.

Every one already deals with a lot of information every day. So when something feels like work to read, they slowly drift away from it.

They feel the weight of perfect content

Sometimes, the content tries to say too much at once.

It is structured, detailed, and well thought out, but some readers may find it a little heavy.

But when a piece content feels easy to read, they stay longer.

If it is a clear thought, they do not have to try hard to understand it. So it makes them stick to it.

This is what I am trying

Instead of thinking, “How do I write something better?”

I try to come up with “How can I make this easier to read?”

Because maybe, many people do not stay for perfection.

Maybe they stay for clarity and ease.
