Forced Retirement; Oh man, another bump in the road!
So, I have a new boss and one of the first things he did was to rewrite my job description!
Now, I am in a position that is far different than what my expertise is in. Because of my age, they will not allow me to get the training that I would need because why would they want to invest in someone who may be leaving in a couple of years?
Retirement is the one area that one would think they had come level of control over. Now they want me to give them a date of retirement as long as it is by the end of this month!
Talk about motivation to make it online!!!!!!
WA, here I go.......

Hi Dave. I have found that life is full of endings but they lead to new beginnings. The word retirement is just a junction point along you life's path. New direction here we come!!
Hi RJ!
Yeah, even though some would like to put us out to pasture, we have the experience and wisdom to show goals that others would not consider, such as what Phil has stated!
Dave, I'm 66, I just started a few months ago with this company. I am by far the oldest person in the company. I was told in January (along with every other agent) to write down our Monthly Goals.
I presented my goals to my manager, he looked at it and said, "Good luck with that!" I missed my goal in January by a mile. Not because of my shortcoming, I actually brought in about $1.5 million worth of business that management didn't close. Nothing I could do about it.
This past week was my best week with the company. I was the #1 Agent, they closed over $400,000 of my deals. I've got two more weeks in Feb. I'm more than halfway to my goal.
Whether I hit my goal or not I plan to tell them that I'm going part-time. I need to dedicate more time to my main business... My Website. ;^)
Take Control!
Find A Way!
Phil
Hey Phil, it sounds like we are both from the class of '66! Now that's what i call dedication!!!
I wish you the best with your plans.
Dave
Hey don't worry Dave, you will definitely see success. With the material and knowledge that you possess, you will definitely see results here at WA, just keep pushing forward. Hopefully your Boss will reconsider, but I do kind of doubt that he will. You never know what can happen because life truly is spontaneous with its occurrences. Best of luck Dave, will be thinking about your situation.

Hey Dave! Many of us have been down the same road. My advice is that whatever you decide to do, go forward and give it your all. Don't waste too much time trying to figure out if you want to get another 9 to 7 job or become your own boss. Don't take too much time off unless you are ready to retire. Finish strong on your present job and move confidently into the next chapter of your life. If creating a business online is your heart's desire you will find the tools to do so here at Wealthy Affiliate.
Best regards,
