The Company You Keep

One of the first things that drew my interest in WA was the determined, positive attitude of the community members I've encountered. Is there wide-eyed optimism in every new venture? Absolutely. However, reading other member's profiles, and seeing key attitudes and themes that prevailed through many of them, there is a determination to at least try something new, something out of their comfort zone. It is important to be surrounded, even in a virtual community, by people who encourage, by those who have been successful and can provide assistance.
This thought came about when I thought of people I've encountered who play the role of victim. That their situations were dictated by circumstances they couldn't control. Life is often not easy, and it is the attitude that directs your approach. Negativity often seems to bring about negativity, and being around that, it is possible it ends up affecting you. Often times the company one keeps, the attitudes, approaches of said company, seems to be a reflection on oneself. The company you keep is the company that can make or break you.
