One Tired Puppy

Wow is all I can say at this moment. I have accomplished a ton this weekend but have to say I am one tired puppy. In my previous post I had tried to create a static home page but had several issues with the theme and realized the theme could not do what I wanted it to.

I have had quite a learning experience this weekend as I decided I would just try a different theme one I have a little bit of experience in as I built a website for my husband that he maintains using this theme so I was thinking it should not be too hard. Of course his site is for Ecommerce and mine is for Affiliate Marketing.

Here We Go Again

I once again backed up my site and held my breathe as I pressed that button to add the new theme, thinking I sure hope this works. Astonished it actually worked and I found myself working way into the night trying to get everything set as it has many controls for color fonts widgets ect...

With the new theme I found it rather easy to add my home static page and get it set up like I wanted it of course leaving off the part of the site for Ecommerce as it is something not needed and I want my site speed to be quick for my traffic.

Stumbling Again

There were still a couple things that I stumbled over but I am thinking when I downloaded one of the plugins that the theme requires there is a glitch or maybe did not download correctly, so I sent an email to the support for the theme and hopefully they can get that figured out. I know I am doing it correctly as I have set it up before on my husbands site and it works great.

So most of my site is up and running then I realize that my font on some of my pages is not like it is suppose to be so I had to redue a bit on those and wa able to have success finally. My website is back up and running. Yeah!

Now To Complete My Weekend Tasks

Now to finish getting the rest of my work done this weekend that I had planned. I worked through the training from Loes and ToLiNoLi on creating the new policies for the EU Cookie Laws that go into affect on May 25, 2018 and was able to put it in my Privacy Policy and that was a great success. Thanks goes out Loes and ToLiNoLi for all the hard work hey did making my life so much simpler.

The next task was setting up my opt in on my newly created theme and so I chose to go through SendPulse as many people here has recommended it and it works great, so another success for the weekend.

The next task was trying to create a logo for my website and my brand. Thankfully I have played with Canva a bit and also Ribbit and I will say between using the two applications it turned out nicely.

An End To A Successful Weekend

So I am feeling quite confident right now as I feel I accomplished a ton of stuff this weekend. After a complete overhaul on my website, putting policies in place, setting up my opt-in and putting together a Logo I can now move into next week feeling a sense of accomplishment. I do have to say though I am one tired puppy and hoping this next week goes well for me and all of you out there.
