Not All Themes Are Created Equal - Why Does It Have To Be So Hard?

Thought I would check in as I know I have not been in the community too much in the last few days and thought I would give you a run down on my festivities. Here is how my day went last Wednesday. The day started out as any other day I went to work came home and decided to work on my website then being my courages self decided to do a complete overhaul on my website.

What am I getting myself into?

Here I am two months into Wealthy Affiliate training and creating my business online and feel I am doing well when I realize, the direction I am headed in and the structure of my website will not accomodate my hopes and dreams for what I entend to accomplish in the future. I know if I am going to be successful that I need to take it to another level and thought if maybe I just added a home page it would help point me in the right direction.

Oh! I was so wrong.

I typed into the little search bar at the top of Wealthy Affiliate "How to create a home page" I came up with several trainings in the community and read through them and proceeded to try to build a home page. You know, some times it looks easier that what it really is. I thoght to myself I can do this. I backed up my website and proceeded with caution going step by step, thinking to myself, that is pretty easy as I changed to the static setting and added my home page and set my blog. Piece of cake right? Right after that is when life went down hill and I figured out there was so much more to creating a home page than what I thought.

Here I set with an empty home page.

I am setting here thinking what am I supposed to do now? So I write on my home page and think all is going to be great. Yeah not so much, I post it and go to the website to check it out to see how my new creation looks, thinking this is going to be great.

My Home Page Is Still Blank.

What did I do wrong? Why is it not working? Back to the drawing board and more research ahead. Come to find out through my research and finding some instructions on my theme I realize that everything added to the home page has to be in the form of a widget.

Ok fine I thought and considering the time I switched it back to the blog role and went to bed thinking tomorrow was another day and I would try to figure it out then.

The next day came and the struggle was on.

More research, more disappointment, not understanding what I am doing wrong? Why can I not make the page look like I want it? Why does it have to be so hard? By this time I am so frustrated and then I figure out that the theme I am using just does not have the capability of doing what I need it to do. So now it is time to move on and find one that does.

I am determined and will succeed I just have to find the right theme!
