A Day of Reaching out to Recruiters

Beware of Unsolicited Job Offers

If you receive an unsolicited email saying that they found your resume online and think that you would fit perfectly for a position in their company, always Google them before you respond.

I have found that one unsolicited response I received was a sales position for commission only. And another wanted to see if I would consider relocating.

A Recruiter Did Something Special For Me

While reaching out to recruiters today, I found that my favorite recruiter has retired. Although she did give me her cell phone number for references. That was a very nice thing for her to do for me.

Nothing To Do (Week 1 of 3)

At work my co-worker and I continue to have nothing to do but job search. (Only our supervisor was picked up by the new company – Clyde & Co.) But she surprised us today by saying that the Interim CEO called her into his office and asked about us. She replied by telling him of our respective strengths, that I love doing lengthy dictations and complex spreadsheets, and that my co-worker was a hard worker who comes in early and stays late whenever necessarily. I so hope that he changes his mind. Attorneys and other staff have told him that we are needed for the word processing workload they’re expecting.

It’s A Test

It isn’t easy to sit at my desk for 7.5 hours and have no work to do. It’s against everything my work ethic is all about. But the notice that Sedgwick gave us ran up until Jan. 20, 2018. So I am staying until then or until I get another job that is more than I am making now. My supervisor, who tells me she is no longer my supervisor says that I ought to leave at 8 instead of 9 if there is no work. I told her I didn’t feel comfortable doing that. Then she tells me she was just testing me. I don’t think that was very nice. But at least she knows now that I wouldn’t do such a thing.

You can be writing down ideas for your website development in parallel Debra!

Yes. I have been doing that, and then typing it at home.

I hope every success to you. Something will come along

Thank you. I've applied to about 75 different places so far. The top 50 law firms, and 25 other miscellaneous ones I get from job alerts. I think next will be Accounting Firms, because I used to work for Ernst & Young before I started working for Law Firms. I'll work on that today, compiling a list. At least I will look busy.
