This Is My "Why" - What Is Your Why?
This Is My Why - What Is Your Why is the reason that I joined Wealthy Affiliate and love this program even though I just got started...
This is my why is the reasons that I joined Wealthy Affiliate and confident that I will succeed with this program.
First, just a little a history about me....
I was born in a small town in Kentucky, 1 of 9 children. I was very poor and never had much of anything. I was the kid that didn't have many friends at all, not because I was anti-social but because I was the kid that was always laughed at because my clothes was dirty and ragged and shoes basically exposed the socks that had wholes in them.
Although my siblings and I had to endure harsh treatment from other kids around the neighborhood as well as school, My parents would always tell me to always reach for goals and prove your critics wrong. They told me that people will laugh and try to discourage you just to destroy you and make you give up on believing in yourself.
Those words were embedded in me and from a kid, I never gave up on myself and promised my parent that one day I would make them proud of me, not because I would become a Millionaire or a Celebrity but setting goals and achieving the little by little.
At 13 I got my first job mowing yards for a senior citizen - "Wow" $5 a cut once a week
At 16 I got my driver license - "Wow" I got to drive my older brothers old Hooptie
At 17 I got a job at McDonald's and about to graduate High School - "Wow" I'm making more money and get to eat. By the way, some of the kids that laughed at me had already dropped out of school.
After High School I was selected to attend a government sponsored vocational school for low income personnel. I graduated and got a job installing telephones for a Sub-Contractor - "Wow" - Can You Say "Making Money"
I met a "Sweety" and got married after 6 months of dating - "Wow" Time for a baby.
The company wanted to transfer me so I joined the Army - "Oh Wow" What did I get Myself into? I graduated Basic Training and Advance Individual Training and stationed at Ft Bragg, NC.
Now I'm on a roll, had a baby and Just went through one of the toughest trials of my life but again, I never quit because my parent always encouraged me to reach for my goals and never quit.
In December 1987, as a token of my appreciation for my parents support and encouragement over the years, my wife and I decided to spend Christmas with them and get them something nice. "Wow" This is going to be a big surprise and we could hardly wait to get on the road for Kentucky.
We got up early about 3:30 Christmas Eve and was preparing to head home. The phone rang and I was expecting a "Merry Christmas" from anybody, instead it was my Brother-In-Law telling me that my mother had died. "Total Devastation"
I felt let down, lost and confused...
I wanted to quit and give up because I didn't care anymore.
I turned to alcohol, I ran the streets late at night and came in earlier enough to make it to Formation (Roll Call). Most of the time drunk.
To sum it up, I lived a reckless life and made poor decisions that I don't care to remember.
Through all of the madness foolishness, I knew that I had to get it together and make a change for the better. I had my ups and down over the years but I knew deep inside that there was a "Why" that I keep going and reaching for the "Better"
Fast Forward - I cleaned up my act, I retired from the Army, We raised 3 beautiful children and settled down in "Beautiful Florida". I have real friends and loving life.
Ok I hear you!!! Get To My Why...
Here It Is:
* To accomplish the goal that I set out for years ago, "Financial Freedom" and prove my haters wrong.
* I have been in many programs that promise you success and financial freedom just to leave me almost bankrupt. I searched Warrior Forum and this program has so many positive comment, it captured me right away because of the honesty and caring members.
*Although I am Retired Army, I haven't reached the level of success that I feel that my family deserves, WA Will help me get there...
*Give my wife the dream home that she deserves and anything that she desires. After all she has been my rock over the years. WA will help me get there...
* I want to learn as much as I can with this program so that I may help others become successful. Members here have already reached out to me offered help if needed and that's wonderful...
* I want to support charities that are really making a difference in the lives of others and I feel that this program will give me the tools and training that I need to become successful and make those donations.
In a nutshell, I feel that Wealthy Affiliate and the members reached out to me before I reach out to WA and offered everything that I was looking for to be successful and that is priceless.
Thank You Wealthy Affiliate
I know this is long but hopefully my message will encourage someone that may be feeling down or discouraged.
Merry Christmas, Happy Holiday's, to you all. Even though both of my parent's passed in the Month of December, their teaching, drive, love for others and will to succeed that they have instilled in me will forever motivate me to be a winner.

I like you slogan because I am a results oriented person. Thank you for your great post. I joined Wealthy Affiliate because I wanted to be a Wealthy Affiliate (lol)

Great blog.
So now you are on the right path again.
Like your results or excuses not both.
Reminds me of a quote by Jim Rohn.
Either you run the day
Or the day runs you.
See you around.
Merry Christmas to you and yours :)
Thanks Papi
