College Grades: Good or Bad, They Don't Define You
College Grades.
The reason I’m writing about this article is because I had a horrible semester. I have never had to deal with a C or for that matter, even worse than that. But this semester I could possibly get them. It is so frustrating to even think about marks like that on my record.
When I was done with my finals I was so upset with myself that I almost screamed. It is unfair and unreasonable that this should have ever happened to me. I know and understand just as much as any other student in those classes, but I will be walking away with a transcript that says that I don’t. It drives me mad.

Keep grinding away. Next semester is another opportunity for you to get those high scores. So what if you don’t have a transcript with straight A’s on it. Depending on how you handle it, low test scores and grades can build character. Bad things in life happen to everyone, but the ones who succeed in life are the ones who endure. After getting low scores the best thing to do is to relax, because it’s stressful. Believe me I know. I have been there before just like you. After you’re done relaxing look at the mistakes you made over the semester and learn from them. Ask yourself these questions…
-Should I have studied more?
-Did I party too much?
-Did I pay attention in class?
-Do I have a problem with procrastination? And Lastly,
-Do I have test anxiety?
If you seriously analyze yourself you should be able to find at least a few things that you did wrong over the year to help explain your college grades. And that’s ok. It’s ok to party too much, not study enough, and to not pay attention in class. It’s ok to get bad scores, as long as you learn something from it. The question you need to ask yourself is; what can I do differently next semester to improve my scores? For example, take advantage of learning services, such as PapersOwl so that your grades are better. And if there are a lot of things, there is nothing wrong with writing them down and making a list. If you really care about doing well in school and chances are that you do because you took enough time in the first place to read all of this; then all those suggestions I just gave won’t be very hard to follow.
Don’t let those bad scores bring you down. Just because you got some bad scores doesn’t mean that your life is over or that you won’t be able to get a job or get into graduate school. Remember that college grades are just letters on a piece of paper. At the end of the day there not the only tool you can use to sell yourself to an employer. Many of the most successful people not just in the world today, but who ever walked the earth had awful grades in school. Many did so bad in school or hated it so much that they dropped out and decided to pursue other things. Einstein flunked math. He became one of the world’s greatest physicists. Bill gates, one of the world’s richest men, dropped out of Harvard to pursue an interest in computers. The first time I read that I laughed to myself. That little interest of his became Microsoft.
Keep in mind all the things you can do to improve your transcript. There are many study practices of successful students, which can help you to resolve your problems with college. College grades really aren’t everything. Bad college grades won't end your career and great college grades won't make you a millionaire. Volunteering is more or less helpful depending on what career you wish to pursue. Also there are extracurricular activities, and organizations that can help your chances. They help you because employers as well as grad schools like to see that you were not just busy with school work but also that you pursue personal interests as well. Also you may not want to, but you can always retake a class. It might be worth it if it will really help your college grades out.
Those are some good things to keep in mind but most importantly never surrender your dream just because you had a bad semester or year for that matter.
