Kato Challenge

If you have ever seen any of the Pink Panther movies you know Kato. Kato was the inspectors faithful servant. His main job was to try to surprise the inspector with sneak attacks.

Now you're thinking how does this tie into a challenge? Let me explain.

I went out to dinner with a very old friend of mine last night and she had brought some of her friends along. We all had a good time getting to know each other and having a great meal. I was asked "What Do I Do?"

Now years ago I used to talk way too much, trying to sell everyone on my awesome business opportunity. I had what is called Verbal Diarrhea. I talk way too much and by the end of everything I think people forgot what I did or just did not care.

So then one day my mentor introduced me to this challenge. Explain your business in 2- 3 short sentences and then have your friends, family or someone asks you what you do at anytime of the day or night. Whenever they want to try to throw you off.

This was a great idea! I can now tell someone what I am doing in a couple of sentences. If they want to know more I tell them I would be happy to explain more later. I never give them my websites or any extra info. This way it keeps it casual and keep them thinking about what I have said.

I let them know I will be happy to give them more information at the end of the night or they can call me tomorrow and I will be happy to give the personal time to answer their questions.

This way I am no longer that guy! You know the one that is always pitching your business when your out. Nobody wants him at a party or dinner!

So go head and take the challenge! Be the person people want to know more about and not the one they try to avoid.
