Google Plus. Is it for real? Importance of Using it.
Hello everyone!
I was fooling around on my computer and Google + page and accidently came accross the attached screen print. I actually am ranked number 4 on Google for my Google + page on page 1 and it isn't even my Business Page. My website is still not ranked, yet my Google + page is after only 1 week. This just goes to show the more you put out there, the more people will be directed to your web page.
Cheers!

Hi David, open an incognito page to check your result which will be more accurate. Your Google page will store your information so you will be able to see your own page first. I always use incognito page to check and the same page may or may not be there.
Very interesting to read what actually happened with G+ - the little cunning smarty - :) Thank you for bringing it up David.
Hey David, I noticed this the other day too - in some cases, even though my pages are ranked, the G+ entry sits above them in the SERP.. I wonder why? C
Hey Gilbert - I see now.. thank you.. sorry.. it's early here - my eyes are still stuck together and I've not got any caffeine inside me yet :)
Much like the authorship picture only shows now if you are logged into your Google account, I guess.

Google + is a social network site. It is more like Facebook than any other social network site, but they are all different.
What about Pinterest, is it the same? I hit first page with some keywords from a Pinterest pin.
Will wait....I'm sure there is a WA Wizard who knows the answer. But I recalled I was searching with WA Keyword Tool when I listed on the first page. I think Pinterest is a very powerful social media. It is easy to be followed for a very good pic.
As far as I know, Pinterest is not the same. So if you are achieving some rankings through Pinterest, you are most likely seeing legitimate rankings. If you aren't sure, make sure you are logged out of Pinterest, launch an incognito browser window and conduct the search again and see where you appear. Hope that helps, all the best!
This will happen if you are logged into your Google account. You may know this already but just giving a heads up.
Good eye seeing this and I certainly don't want to be discouraging on the least, but just as a heads up, those results will only display when you are logged into your Google account in that browser. If you log out and searched, unfortunately, your G+ page would not appear.
HOWEVER, a prescence on Google + is important, as Google likes its own kind so it provides more credibility to your site and your brand and even helps rankings a little bit. The benefits, IMO are high enough to make sure you share any content you post on your site within your G+ account. You can additionally, create an actual busines page for your brand, too. I actually do this from a different Google account and have a couple more backlinks from multiple sources, as well as an established branded page to compliment my site.
Keep up the enthusiasm and follow the blueprint laid out here exactly as its explained and you will achieve your goals. All the best!
Very interesting.... I did not know that! Thanks for letting me know that is shows that when I am logged on my Google account. Sneaky Google! I have a business page and the link is on my profile here next to my name.
Yea, Google and their same games! I'm actually shocked to learn that my Adsense account got banned the other day. I'm trying to appeal, but it's a hassle. However, I have ZERO clue as to why and want to know. I don't really care, as it wasn't generating much income for me and of anything, all that JavaScript seems to slow up the site and pages that ARE actually making me great money through affiliate programs and client relationships.
At this point I really just want to know because I swear the email basically said the account is banned, there is nothing you can do, we can't tell you why, you won't be paid and you can't re-instate or create a new account. It was absurd. So although I won't miss Adsense, I am hoping (prob a waste of time) to get an answer and find out why I also won't be paid the $70+ that I sid accumulate in 6 months displaying their ads.! Damn you, Google!! Lol
They know they own the internet... It sucks! What can we do? Oh, well! Sorry to hear about that!
my google+ page did this too, I think its cause its google and they want to promote their version of facebook! lol! I made sure to direct my readers to the actual website too!
