Is Content Marketing Dead?

Content Marketing is Not Dead
I just heard this from a guy I'm supposed to believe. Maybe you've heard it. He roughly said that the days of solo marketers hiding behind a screen and putting out content are over. It made me wonder whether blogging still works.
I'm here to tell you that his take is overblown.
Is the business harder than it was five years ago? Yes. AI Overviews are eating some clicks. Google updates have been rough on thin, low-effort sites, and authority sites as well. The bar is simply higher than it used to be.

But here's what hasn't changed. Sites with real expertise, honest, helpful content, and an author that comes across as genuine are still ranking, and still earning. The model isn't broken. Successful bloggers on this platform prove this out. The standards are just higher.
Of course, adding social media like YouTube, Pinterest, Reddit, Facebook, and others to our blogs increases our audience immensely.
The "content is dead" crowd usually falls into one of two camps. Either they're selling you something else, or they tried content marketing poorly and blamed the model instead of their own attempt.
If you're building a blog in a sought-after niche, with helpful articles that solve readers' problems, and come across as a real person, you're not doing something outdated. You're doing something that Google still rewards, just with less patience for shortcuts than before.
Stay the course. The people who quit right now are the ones who will look back and wish they hadn't.
