Paddle Wrecked Me

Dont be fooled by the picture, the paddle I am blogging about us not the type that provides power to a boat. It's a racket ball game using a bat smaller than a tennis racket, a squash racket but bigger than a table tennis bat.

The court is like a tennis court and a squash court rolled inrlri one. It also encompasses real tennis play to an extent.

I thought, well this looks simple enough to play and I'm very reasonable at all racket sports 😉 so let's give it a go, looks easy. Mistake No1, never underestimate a game that looks simple, it will bite you in the butt, and it did. I lost 6-0, 6-0, 6-1. I pulled both thigh muscles, burned my left knee on the surface, have pains all through my arms😗, legs, back, shoulders and bottom.

Mistake No2, do not underestimate your opponent. I knew both my opponents and they gave nothing, absolutely destroyed me.

Mistake No3, not prepared. I definitely was not ready for what I was taking in. In my mind, I had already won. I actually think my opponents took it easy on me.

What did I learn.

Research, prepare, deploy, learn, audit, plan, deploy, learn, start again and repeat.

Hi Murrey. Yes sur, same to you too

Great advice Dave. Wishing you a prosperous New Year and a speedy recovery.

A great message Dave. Never underestimate. The lessons learned should be applied on a regular basis. Thank you for the share.

Michael

Well done Dave, at least you had a go. You have a few days before you drive back to la belle France.
Have a cracking New Year Mate.

Wow, Dave--you learned some important lessons! An analogy to business in a round about way! Sometimes, I assume that I job I was headed to will be easy (perhaps I had done it a lot) On those occasion, I learned just how wrong that I was!

Jeff

Hi Jeff. Yes, I tried to draw similarities to not going into business without a good idea of what you are doing.

Message well received, Dave, and well done, my friend!

Jeff
