Please help me with the website organisation

Hello,

I'm building my first website and I'm finding the pages organisation very difficult.

My website contains a main menu that leads to 7 different pages. Each page contains a certain topic. So now when I publish a new post I categorise it with a label category corresponding to each page, but when I press "publish" the post goes in the home, not in the specific page.

How can I do to organise each page so that it shows only the posts for that category and not just a blank empty page?

What I have to do in order to place each new article on that specific page and NOT IN THE HOME?

Please help me!

You can't publish a post to show on a page.
You need to create categories for each topic and sort your posts according to the relevant category.
The home page will show all blog posts by default. If you don't want that, you need to create a static home page instead.

Hello!
thanks for the answer! Yes I understand, so what can I do to link a page to a specific category of contents?

1

In the Primary menu, add the page first and then add all the related posts as sub items underneath it. Repeat this for each topic/page.
On the page itself, you could add links or photos to the posts.

The main menu will show the page in the navigation bar with a dropdown arrow to select the posts underneath it.

See the image attached for reference. You log into your site, on the dashboard you will find Appearance, click on that and select Menu - that is where you arrange your pages and posts.
Hope this helps you.

Hello Louise,
yes I tried already, thank you. My main menu is already organised in that way, but for what I'm understanding It's not possible to do it differently. Sob

What about if you create some kind of menu on the page, then list the articles and create a link from the page to the article? If you know what I mean? :-)

1

Yes! This is exactly what I'm gonna do, thank you!

Yay! I love it when a solution is found! :-)
Wishing you every success.
