Hello everyone,
I want to buy a domain name, but the one that I want is already taken. It contains two words and when I put a hyphen between the two, it is available! Is i
There is nothing keeping you from using hyphens in domain names except perhaps the "remembrance factor". Not many people consider using them when looking for sites in a generic search.
Google doesn't "see" hyphens. Therefore a site domain that uses them ranks just as easily in the search engine, but you will not get as much traffic in say a case like this:
I want to find some cookie cutters. I think there may be a site called "cookiecutters-dot-com", so I enter that in the search bar. There IS such a site, but I also notice a site called "cookie-cutters-dot-com" right below it. I'm likely to pick on the "cookiecutters-dot-com" site first, but that doesn't mean I won't check both and it doesn't matter to Google, both sites have the keyword in the site domain, so both are displayed in the SERP (search engine results page).
As for domain "value" (monetary resale): short, two-three word un-hyphenated domains in the top-level domains (.com, .net, .org) carry more weight and bring much better resale.
Otherwise, it's a non-issue.
I know this because I used to rank a site known as "restoration-and-disaster-recovery-dot-com" with no problem. I later changed it to the acronym "RaD-R-dot-com" for ease of use and branding.

Is it ok to use a hyphen in a domain name?

I agree with Leland. People will forget the hyphen. Consequently your traffic will take a hit.

Hello everyone, I am following the boot camp and Kyle is now telling me to pin every images within my site to Pinterest and to add my link in the description.
My question
I asked a similar question about a month ago after reading a news post about Pinterest banning affiliates. If they do detect affiliate links your pins can get removed. This has all been brought about since Pinterest started monetizing their site with the buy pins thing.
Ok so Pinning tutorials from WA like Kyle does in the boot camp using the Affiliate button at the top of each page will get me banned?
Yes they will. Are the WA pins to peoples blogs or an actual affiliate link? Pinterest did a mass removal of amazon links which are affiliate links.
Am just in the process of sorting out Pinterest. My understanding is to link to your site post or page. Then if the p/p grabs someone they can link to your affiliates there. Is this a correct supposition.?
If you pin images from your site to Pinterest, they should automatically link back to your site. That's what makes Pinterest so good - if someone else pins it, the image still links... adding links is encouraged not punished. https://help.pinterest.com/en/guide/pins
Thank you, I was wondering if it was considered spam because, in the boot camp, Kyle add 2 links, one automatically generated in the image and he add one in the description.

Hello everyone,
I usually speak French and I'm having some problems with spelling and syntax, what is the best program I should use to solve my problem?
I use grammarly all the time and I'm french too. En ce qui me concerne c'est vraiment excellent! Il faut quand même ce fier un peu à notre jugement mais avec une base en anglais ça marche plutôt bien.
Hey Daniel.
My mother tongue is French, oui, de la Gaspesie ;)), however, I did all my major (including English Language ;)) studies in English.
As far as programs, I found this google chrome app to be reasonably accurate. .
Personally, I don't use it, however you might like

Yes, I can tell the translator you used is a bit off haha. I guess I'll have to pay for a good spell check or invest some time in learning proper English...that might be a good idea.

Ok, so I posted an article on my website like a week ago, then I shared it to my G+. What happens is my post don't appear in the first 10 pages of Google (I didn't look further
I've noticed that as well I had one comment on G+ on a subject that I have blogged about, no sign of the blog in rankings but G+ comment is on page 1!! But it leads people to the blog site so that's the power (and bias) of Google and social media.
Its better to have your own website , not only can you promote more for others on your own site but you will build traffic and results will be better in the end ! Hope this helps ya :)

When I do a research about a keyword such as affiliate website for example, when I click on view competition I get this result (Page 5 of about 442 results) but then I click in
when you just search the keyword it shows every variation of that keyword. example: I could type up KEYWORDS and it would also show results for NEW KEYWORDS, KEYWORD TOOLS, ect. but when you type it in the keyword search it puts quotation marks around it and that makes it search just for sites that have that KEYWORD, thus the outcome is going to be a lot smaller.
Hey Dany !!!
... left a response here -> Awesome Jaaxy and WA Keyword Tool Trick Page 5 of about 442 results - way to HIGH!
... get to under 100 QSR
Hi.
The real competition is what the keyword tool says.
Google adds many sites that has only one word of the keyword phrase to the search results.
By the way, I don't think that 442 results is a low competition keyword.
Try to find keywords with less than 100 competitors.
Much easier to get ranked that way.
Hi, I got the 436 000 results from the same box that showed 442 I only clicked in the search bar and pressed enter the result changed.
Also some keywords don't even show up in the box it says
Your search - "mykeyword" - did not match any documents.
Suggestions:
Make sure that all words are spelled correctly.
Try different keywords.
Try more general keywords.
Does that mean the keyword have 0 competition?
The keyword tool uses a different search algorithm than the normal google search. That's why the result changes when you click in the search bar and hit enter. This triggers the normal google search.
Yes, if it doesn't find anything that means that the exactly same keyword doesn't have competition. But google would still suggest other sites that cater similar keywords to searchers.
