Do your goals inspire you?
I read somewhere that “the only real purpose of a goal is to inspire you to fall more deeply in love with your life."
Spend some time with that for a while. Many people set goals in hopes that attaining those goals will make them happy.
But what if you could see it from another perspective?
What if your happiness and love for your life came not from attaining the goal, but from doing the things it'll take to attain those goals?
This means you fall in love with the process of living. You fall in love with the process of growing a business and not the profit margins.
You fall in love with the process of growing your nonprofit, and not what you envision it to be. When you fall in love with the process, you lose attachment to the outcome, and this actually allows your goals to manifest faster.
So rather than setting SMART goals, how about setting freaking inspiring goals that light you the eff up every time you just as much as think about them?
