8 Months and 4,000 dollars later, Wealthy Affiliate Works!

I joined Wealthy Affiliate in May 2013. Before then, the only money I made online were from writing short articles for peanut on Elance, and royalty from my Amazon kindly books.

My only knowledge of word-press was the free websites at wordpress.com, and if you wanted to personalize it, you bought you domain thought them.

Well, to keep things short, I quickly learned that one way to make money from a website was through donations. Did a little digging and saw an opportunity to building a faith based niche site that was relevant only for a particular window of time. within 3 month, I'd raised over $5,000. $1,500 of that was for my personal services.

I then read of fellow WA members who were making nice side income building sites for local businesses, and thought.. that's something I can do. I began by charging $500 per website. Did two of those in November and December that accounted for $1,000.

January came along, and I got another website going. that brought me to $3,000.

And then came the kicker where with a little extra negotiation, I got small international B2B company to hire me to build their site for $2,000, and $100 monthly maintenance fee. I collected my 50% payment yesterday. Cash received to date: $4,000. Oh and then there's the WA commission for referring 2 premium members who are already making things happen in their own businesses.

So, while I've not yet made any money from Amazon or clickbank. I certainly have utilized the skills acquired to date effectively.

I am grateful but not yet fulfilled. I will be fulfilled when my income is passive as opposed to active. Even If it takes me another two years to hot my first major goal of 10K a month in passive online income, I will do it.

I hope this post can be an encouragement to the new members of WA. It works if you work it. And trust me, I've not even started working the system as I'd like to. I've not even completed bootcamp yet.

The key is to focus on the learning and bring value to your audience. the month will definitely come.
