The stick or the carrot?

Last minute panic before Christmas. Went out of my way to do my best to help someone out, by asking questions in order to give them exactly what they wanted and the person decided that motivation by insult was the best way to treat me. My response could have been quite an angry one but what was the point.
I always think the best way to motivate people is through giving them hope and by encouraging them.
That comes to my point about this place love the way everyone encourages and supports each other here. Keep up the good work everyone. Have a great Christmas and New Year.
