Up above is a page you will find under "Settings" and then "Writing"(highlighted Yellow).

As you may already know, it really isn't a good idea to leave a post "Uncategorized". So each time we write an article we select the category we want it under.

What if most your articles are currently under a specific category?

The above page is just for that! Plus a cool little addition of having Smileys "Emoticons" displayed in your comments section.

(Note)

After reading several websites, and comments, I have concluded to not check off "WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically"

Webmaster tools says that my website has no html errors, so I am fine by that. lol

As for post format. I use standard. If you don't know what it is and it's set to standard. Leave it. (Your pages will be displayed differently if you change this)

My categories resort to "Uncategorized," too, but I always make sure they are in proper categories, even though I use drop-down menus on my realmoneynoscams.com site instead. Didn't know about those emoticons, Damien. Thanks!

Good info, thanks for sharing, Is this where your WordPress CMS sorts all your posts? Even if they are placed in different Pages on your website?

1

Not really no. It just allows to select what is displayed by default when you create a new post. Default category for new posts that is..

My default setting do not show uncategorized box, it only shows Blog. So I assume my blog page is also my homepage. Also the setting tab is for whole wordpress site, not just individual pages, yes?

hmm, must be changed from your theme maybe? What are you using?

I think it is 2014 (twenty-fourteen).
