Ranking with ridiculous keywords

I had an experience yesterday that gave me a good chuckle. Maybe other people have had this experience as well.

So I should make this clear first of all that my niche website is about leather, and that's it. So I was looking at my Google Analytics at my keyword rankings and there I was ranked for "Taco Bell menu items". Granted I was ranked like 200th or something, but still!

I mention Taco Bell once, offhandedly as an analogy, in the middle of a 800 or so word article. And it ranked. I never even say anything about the menu!

I don't know what the point of this is, but maybe it is just to point out that you can get ranked for things other than the keywords you are "targeting". That is why it is so important to write naturally. Other beneficial keywords related to your niche will creep in there on their own. Or maybe random ones will like they did to me.

Either way, just an interesting experience that got me thinking a little. Now I'm wondering if this blog post is going to rank for Taco Bell Menu Items. That would be funny.

Hi Dallin, this is normal. I went through the entire Affiliate Bootcamp here at WA and of the things Kyle teaches is how to write a good post. He emphasized what a keyword is and as I can vividly recall...every single word in your post is a keyword. You might want to publish and a post for a specific keyword but in actual fact...I think you already know what I am about to say.

Unique quality content is SEO. That's it.

We are not writing for search engines anymore...we are writing for users.

All the best to you.

If you get a chance, check out one of my posts here and you will understand what I mean by this.

I hope this helps you more towards your success. :)

That is funny but it does happen. When writing a blog it is a key thing to have your keywords in the beginning of your first paragraph. Happy that you are ranking. Blessings
