How To Make Links In YouTube Video Description Clickable

I uploaded a video to YouTube yesterday & added a link to the video description.

However, when I hit "publish" and previewed the video, the link wasn't linked!

I screamed for 2 hours straight.

Then, when I composed myself, I Googled "how to make links in YouTube video description clickable".

The information I found was crap.

But as I closed my eyes and asked the universe for assistance, I heard a small high-pitched voice that mentioned "Feature Eligibility settings".

At first, I was shocked, because that was not how I expected the universe to talk.

Anyway, once I stopped thinking about how I expected the universe to talk, I decided to set off in search of the secret "Feature Eligibility settings".

After 5 gruelling minutes, I found them.

Thankfully, you don't have to go through this same pain, because I just recorded a video showing you exactly how to resolve it & make your YouTube links clickable.

If you found it helpful, let me know.

Thank you for the video, Dale, I must admit I hadn't come across this problem before. However, it's the sort of problem you quickly lose time on if you don't know what to do! So your video could be useful for future use!

Out of interest, Dale, what software do you use to record your videos? I use Camtasia, but it's always interesting to know what other members use for video creation.

All the best.

Absolutely ๐Ÿ™

I use Screencast-O-Matic (I think it changed its name now though). It's super inexpensive and it's absolutely great software. I highly recommend it.

Thank you for the confirmation, Dale, it's appreciated. It appears that there is a lot more screen recording software available now than what I was a few years ago!

Have a great Friday.

Good info Dale thanks ๐Ÿ˜ŠThe universe does speak in mysterious yet wonderful ways!

After watching your video it prompted me to check on some posts on an old YT channel I want to revitalise. Some links were not clickable. I was already verified through the channel history. I reset the Feature Eligibility settings as you described and all is good now on those 3 descriptions. Interestingly by just doing that the views on those 3 videos each increased within an hour which was a nice reward for my small effort ๐Ÿ˜Ž

That's awesome to hear, glad it helped! :)

Without even hitting play the description alone was well worth the price of admission, lol ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’ฏ

Good job, Dale!

Hahaha I was waiting to see who noticed ;)

Iโ€™ve never had this problem and have a TON of links in my descriptions. Good info, though! It must be the method of verification.

Very lucky! ๐Ÿ™

Please, please people, use the "video-identification method" to get your account verified, and not the ID-verification, as it was impossible to get a good picture straight up, and then Youtube just decides to wait for another two months before you can retry to verify it!
( I had that happen with my second youtube channel and it was quite frustrating!)
Lizzy

Thank you for the heads up, Lizzy!

welcome!
