Time is Becoming a Rare and Priceless Commodity

Being an on-cal engineer with wife and three kids under the age of ten, time is one of those things you cherish when you get it. When I started WA months ago, I was told up front that I will have to stay the course and dedicate a lot of time to this project. And, that's what I called myself doing.

If there was a day by day log of the things I do on here, it will show that I will spend hours at a time for a few days in row then go into remission for a week or two then come back headstrong to do it all again. I had considered myself being already ahead of the curve because I knew plenty about WordPress and website design before I even started here (that's a gift and a curse when it comes to marketing). So, what would be so hard about picking up where I left off?

Very hard apparently.

The first thing I do when I log back on is look at my site(s). More often than not, I have to ask myself "Why did I do that?", then I'm digging back into previous lessons to play catch up.

Now before you hit that Reply button, I know that is a recipe for disaster.

The lesson portions in and of themselves are relatively short, but some parts of it *requires* a few hours to complete (like low hanging fruit keyword research). And, with my logic, if I wasn't able to dedicate to that lesson in a timely fashion, I'd stick it on the shelf until I was able to. This has become a brutal mental crutch.

Not having time to do this is nothing but an excuse. A really good one, but an excuse none the less. So, I'm going to try a new training strategy for myself. Instead of spending 4-5 hours on here 3 (or even less) days a week, I'm going to try to get in 1-2 hours every day of the week. My schedule of course will be naturally working against this method, but I know that with the tools sitting in front of me, I have great potential in getting the job done.
