Free Email Marketing Experiment
In my last blog I told you about a company I found, SimplerLeads, that if you join allows you to download 10 free contacts/day which I thought a good way to test email marketing my WA website without spending any money. I also set up a free MailChimp account to send out the emails. So I tried this with 20 leads (2 days worth) and this was sent 3 days ago. I sent one of my blogs (maybe TMI) in an email. I immediately got a response that two of the emails were blocked. So that is still 18 left. The next day I received an email that one person had unsubscribed. That’s 17 left. But that’s 17 more people that may know about my website than 3 days ago. I also tried an easy website called MadMimi (another free site) for sending out the emails. They were very suspicious of where I got the leads and even though I told them I got them from another website they did not believe they were mine or opt in subscribers after two emails I gave up. This could be because of the fact that my subscription is free or that they are super diligent the first time with members to ensure their site is not being used to spam people.
