Email List Your Most Valuable Asset

If you just signed up at Wealthy Affiliates and are serious about making money online let me give you my first two strongest suggestions.

1st is to purchase your own domain. Purchase it through Godaddy, Namecheap, or where ever. My personal advice is to not purchase it through WA or through any other online network because this is YOUR business identity and brand you need to have complete control over it.

2nd is the sign up with an autoresponder service. Could be Aweber (which is who I use), Getresponse (I've also used them too), or whoever you choose to go with. Point is to get one.

Know let's get to why doing this first. First off you're an affiliate marketer and are going to be referring people to various offers that your promoting, Wealthy Affiliate being one of them. NEVER post your affiliate link anywhere except on your blog. All your articles, promotions, YouTube video descriptions, Tweets, Facebook post, Pinterest, etc should first and foremost point to your blog where a popup comes up to sign up on your mailing list. Then you are going to direct these people, who solely 100% belong to you now, to your affiliate offers. Remember to make sure these people are in your niche, understand what you do, and you're here to help them. You need to establish trust with these people and live up to it. They will always stick with you if you do.

This list is solely YOUR asset now. Two biggest things to remember, I've already mentioned, is to MAKE SURE your list understands you, your business, and what you do. Me for instance, I'm involved in A LOT of niches and yes I have a list for each one. But on my personal blog, people can sign up to get updates on ALL my niches, products, software, conventions, webinars, etc. They understand that that list is a variety list and they could get an email on any number of niches, topics that I cover. But they trust me. Yes, they understand I'm making a dollar but they also understand that I'm here to help them on THEIR journey to independence.

Just wanted to get this posted for totally newcomers that are always asking "do I need to get a website right away?" YES, having a website IS your business. Actually having multiple ones is but since you're just starting off at least having one in your main niche is MANDATORY.

My first site is in my own name because I am my own brand.
