Affiliates- Marketing on The Down Low

Have you ever eaten at a great restaurant or went to see a fantastic movie and couldn't wait to tell all your friends about it? You share every moment of the event in detail; what you ate, what you saw, how it made you feel. How often do you recommend a product, service or place to visit, to your friends and family? This is something we all do on a daily basis without even thinking about it. I call it Free Marketing. You don't get paid for it. When was the last time Starbucks sent you a check for drinking their coffee and recommending it to a friend? I'm guessing never.

I LOVE shopping on Amazon.com. When I think of all the people I PERSONALLY referred to Amazon over the past 8 years, and the thousands of dollars they've spent on the website, (not to mention the suggested upgrade to Amazon Prime for free shipping)! Had I been an affiliate then, I would be very well off right now. I'm tired of doing "free marketing" for businesses, giving up positive lip service and great reviews to folks and without any "real" compensation!

Here lies the beauty of Affiliate Marketing! To me it's marketing but on the "down low". You have a website or blog site with great products or content and sitting on the sidelines inconspicuously is the ad banner for Amazon, Walmart or whatever is relevant to your page. And it really should be RELEVANT! Who wants to go to a website about hunting deer and see an ad for Victoria Secret? Well, maybe some guys would, I know I wouldn't.

Affiliate Marketing should be easy for me to do because I LOVE to shop online, share ideas with people, to help them make well informed decisions about where to spend their money with honest reviews; from the perspective of a prospective shopper. I'm looking forward to building websites with confidence and enthusiasm, while making a good income on the "down low"!
