How Can Acceptance Can Better Life

Just a little something to ponder as I begin a mission on ways to improve our lives. Hope you enjoy.

I want to start off tonight with a question for you. I hope you don’t mind.

Do you have the ability to accept those things that you cannot change as well as those things that you can change? It isn't always as easy as it seems.

Can you accept the numerous changes that occur in your life each and every day?

When you are able to accept things in your life, including yourself as you are and other people you find a way to take charge of your life. And taking charge of your life is always a good thing, yes or yes?

When you are in control or command, it helps you to see how you are able to live better in your personal life. When you learn to accept you'll learn to discover the real you.

There are so many individuals in the world that believe when we act the same way all the time that we have established our identity. But this is just so politically incorrect! Each one of us has emotions; we have thoughts, certain behaviors, even actions, and have been infected by a world that influences us both great and foul. Every day as we journey through our life we will feel something new, which then causes our personality to reflect these changes or modifications within ourselves.

We after all live in a world that desensitizes us. We are surrounded by millions of influences whether they are on Television, in the media, on the radio, in our homes, our government, or our schools etc. Each to their own of course and there is always someone judging someone else at some time, which is a character fault in others that we have to accept from time to time. We know that we can't alter these people’s behaviors or their way of thinking, but we surely can change ours. This changing of ourselves is a component of learning and accepting that which is. The best way around the world is become your own influence and let other influences make another persons life misfortunate. Deal with that in yourself that you can change, and that which you cannot change in another is simply a fact of life.

Once you learn however to accept you'll be eager to laugh out loud. That ability to accept for example, if somebody makes you crazy you'll be able to see the humor in their actions. You might see the humor in your actions if you make an error and feed into their stupidity. But, once you begin to see the humor in life, you'll feel much better inside. When you learn to change to the better you, then others might just follow your lead. Good conduct has been proven to be far more effective than words when it comes to promoting change in others.

As you grow in your acceptance you will feel a fresh hunger, and that new found hunger will guide you to discover fresh new ways to being a better you. In time as you begin to feel better, you will see a need to do such things as exercise, to eat correctly, and hang out with positive influences and so on. Once you are feeling this hunger, you'll feel inspired to labor to accomplish your goals.

This post resonates with me because I do and have struggled with accepting things that I cannot change and focusing on the things that I can change. Not accepting the things I cannot change has led to much frustration. It is not until I have accepted that some things are out of my control that I started to make changes in my life. Changes that led to more positive behaviors and the zeal to take better care of myself.
There are still moments where I slip back into my old pattern of frustration and self-doubt. But, I remind myself of what I can control and move on from there.
