The Road So Far
How I Got Here
Well, it's not much, but I have been at Wealthy Affiliate for a whopping 3 1/2 days now. It's actually quite funny because I had been doing a bit of research, watching YouTube videos and reading some posts, not really knowing if doing the affiliate thing would be right for me.
Finally, after gathering a bit of intel on the subject and filtering out the scams from the real things,(by the way, the amount of scams for the "make money fast" keyword is crazy) I "settled" on giving the basic version of Wealthy Affiliate a try.
Well, half a day later and I was a premium member. I realized that one does not "settle" for Wealthy affiliate. In just short of 4 days, I have learned as much if not more than I did at University all those years ago. Well, maybe not, but I have and will be able to retain the knowledge learned here because it's fun, exciting, and I actually care about what I'm learn. (Here's to you Microbiology)
What I've Done
I don't really have any accomplishments in these 4 days, unless you count completing the first two courses here. I like to think that my website Novel Junkies has great potential to become a high traffic producing website. I've done some self study, which is probably already covered in the later courses, to help myself put a little extra on my website. I also bought another domain for a future project once I get my current up and running.
Novel reviews aren't a super focused niche, but I was able to find an abundance of keywords that allowed me to be confident in selecting it as my main niche.
My Plans
Well, other than messing around and updating my website to make it better fit my niche, I have one pretty big goal. That goal will probably make my future progress through the course training become pretty slow.
The goal is to produce 50-100 more book reviews on my site before continuing on. To accomplish this, I will need to re-read many of my favorite books as fast as possible. (I know, this is going to be so hard and tiring(sarcasm), you know, doing something that I absolutely love and enjoy doing.)
I will still work through the courses, but when I'm not, I will definitely have my face in a book, my ears listening to an audiobook, or my hands typing a review. I've learned that it is best to review a novel as soon as you finish it. That is one of my biggest troubles, trying to review a novel I loved after reading 100 more in between the initial read and the review.
Goals
I'm not delusional, I don't believe that I'll have a successful business within a few weeks or a few months. I want to take it slow and steady and avoid making as many mistakes as possible. If I can have some traffic within half a year, I will deem this and absolute success. I'm not expecting any profit for some time.
I want to be able to look back and know that I did things right. And I know that joining Wealthy Affiliate was the first "right" choice that I made on that path.
