It's always a marathon: My 2 month journey so far.

Hey WAers,

I wanted to chine in on my 2 months so far with WA. I'm probably in a different boat than most WA members as I actually own two products (automotive and fishing product) that I sell online via dedicated websites, Amazon and through distribution. I have the products made in the US and I warehouse and ship the products myself.

So why join WA?

The reason I joined WA is that I wanted to add additional revenue streams to my online business portfolio and I thought affiliate marketing sounded like a good way to do this. Plus, I thought the techniques that are taught at WA could help drive new traffic to my social media sites, my Amazon listings and also help increase sales with my two dedicated websites.

Is it working?

Yes, I've started applying the techniques from WA to my two sites and social media sites and I'm seeing increased traffic and engagement. I'm blogging everyday now - three blog posts a week to one site (automotive) and 2 blog posts a week to the other (fishing) for a total of 5 blog posts a week now! I'm trying to follow the blogging procedures to the T and it's paying off. I'm consistently getting 1st and 2nd page Google rankings on most of my blog post now for the automotive site. I've had it online for many years now (as a part-time business) so it's more established and Google seems to like that. Just so you know, up until I joined WA two months ago, I have not been blogging at all on either site. The other site (fishing) is relatively new so my blog posts are not ranking as high but I'm seeing more traffic to my site organically and socially and have gotten some sales due to the blog posts.

Does this equate to more money?

Again, YES! I actually just booked a $1000 order this week on the automotive product from a new customer that found me by a recent blog post. I also had a potential new customer reach out to me last week about a possible $5000 order on the automotive product. He also found me by a recent blog post.

The Point?

My point here is that the techniques work if you actually do them. I've followed the training and it's produced results for me and that's all anyone can ask for right? Once I start applying additional techniques like email marketing and ads, I'm confident things will keep getting better for my online business.

Keep running the marathon...

Once the certification program is completed, I do plan on starting the Affiliate Bootcamp training as well to establish a third site and promote the WA program. It's going to be a lot but I think managing two dedicated products, their websites, the products on Amazon and WA Affiliate site will keep me plenty busy. I'm also filling in my time working on a TV commercial campaign (automotive), a TV shopping channel deal (fishing) and with big box retailers (automotive).

I hope you enjoyed this post and it brought some inspiration to anyone struggling. If I can help anyone or answer any questions please give me a shout.

Lastly, I do want to thank everyone at WA for what you do to help this community be successful.

Cheers, Curtis

Hi Curtis,
Thanks for sharing your inspiring story. This truly is a marathon, not overnite riches. But it is fun getting there at a slower pace. Best wishes for success in all your endeavours.

Thank you so much, best of luck!

Fantastic! Well done Curtis.

Thank you!

Sounds like things are looking up for you. I like your analogy that this is a marathon and not a sprint, which is totally on point.

My website is only roughly a little over a month old, but I've gotten a keyword ranked at number 30, which I'm super proud of, so it's getting there.

Congrats and best of luck!

Congrats on that! Everything helps and the more work we put in everyday the more we get in return. What are you using to track your keywords?

Sounds as if you are on top of everything. congratulations.
Jerry

Thank you! Best of luck!

Brilliant post and great to know that the training here works for any established website. WA is not just for beginners.

Thank you for the reply! Best of luck!

Wow! Thanx so much, Curtis, for sharing this! I am only in my second week, but your post here is definitely an encourager :) I, too, have "had a business website" for years. I also have not blogged on that site or even considered in the past posting others' ads, etc. In fact, I have been trying to decide whether or not to move my domain to WA servers and follow up on implementing the training I have been getting here. ...are you reading my knee-mail? !! So your article here is quite timely! Kudos to you in your breakthroughs!

Hello,

I actually thought about moving my sites to WA (when I joined) and decided not to. I reached out to Kyle and explained the situation and he suggested (which I was already leaning towards) not moving them since they were already established and getting some traffic since they would basically become new sites with new SEO and all that. Search engines like sites that have been around for awhile it seems (they like new sites as well though). Best of luck!

Cheers, Curtis

Something else...

I do all my blog post creations in WA (use the tools like Jazzy, SiteContent etc) and then copy and paste them into the blog post sections of my other website platforms. It's extra steps but it works for me and I didn't have to move my sites and I still get to use WA and do the training etc.

Good luck!
