British Humour, an Oldie but a Goodie ALERTS TO RECENT THREATS TO MANY COUNTRIES IN 2014. From JOHN CLEESE The English are feeling the pinch in relation to recent events in Syria and have therefore raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved." Soon, though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross." The English have not been "A Bit Cross" since the blitz in 1940 when tea supplies nearly ran out. Terrorists have been re-categorized from "Tiresome" to

As I was sitting around, pondering the problems of mankind, Between searching for keywords that I just couldn't find. I realized that at my age I didn't give a rat's anymore. Because... .. If walking is good for your health, the postman would be immortal. .. A whale swims all day, only eats fish, drinks water, but is still fat. .

Is it any wonder that learning English is so difficult for those who do not have it as their mother tongue. For those who love the English language the following two dozen statements will bring a laugh or a groan to many. Those who don't may not quite see it. Whatever the case, please relax and enjoy this between your other key words that you are working on. LEXOPHILES (LOVERS OF WORDS): 1. A bicycle can't stand alone; it is two tired. 2. Have you ever had that feeling where you think you have sand in your eyes and at other times your eyes water uncontrollably. I have had this for quite a while and have tried most of the eye drops and sprays on the market. They work for an hour at most and then I’m back to the old tedium. I got caned at school for that and disappointed my family no end. Even though I excelled in my class for writing and spelling they hardly noticed. That’s parents for you. Resurrection This blog is original. However I am resurrecting an important training subject especially for new newbies, older newbies and anyone who missed

This is more an observation than a question. Perhaps someone can clear up the mystery in the art of "following". Everywhere I go in WA these little green rectangles with rounded corners saying “Follow me” keep following me around. They are sitting there under a row of profile pictures on my Profile page. Then they are there in amongst all the discussion pages next to anyone I haven’t followed yet. And again in other places but of course never under people in my group. And then of course I

Yippee and Hooray, it's One Month Today! Not quite a poet's line but it'll do for now. I'm not usually given to celebrating the passage of time but today happens to be one month from when I joined WA. And what a crazy month it has been. In part because after 4 days of joining and getting to know followers and those who followed me and really liking what I was experiencing. The camaraderie of the group, reading people's blogs, of those followed, plus the helpfulness of everyone and be

There are new things happening in the world of websites and more importantly, domain names and their extensions. "Someone" decided that there were not going to be enough to go around and 'someone else' decided that the domain name extensions should be more informative and practical and allow businesses to have a domain name extension which reflected the purpose of their business. So instead of good old dot.com or dot.org or whatever, if you have say, an owner/barista he can now have joes fabul
