Progress thus far.
So I've made it through the end of Course 2! It's taken me a little longer than I would've liked but I guess life happens. With that being said though, I feel like the further along that I get the better rhythm I seem to be getting into as far as producing content for my website.
Most of my posts have ranked within the top 100 for their keyword within a couple days of posting them. I'm not sure how that compares to others but I'm guessing it's not a bad thing. It could be worse, right?
My biggest takeaways from this process with this first site is the importance of just taking action. I don't expect to get rich off my first site. It was more about walking through the process and actually doing something instead of thinking about doing something. Big difference.
I'm an introvert so I tend to live inside my head which has been the biggest hurdle to my internet marketing efforts. I have a tendency to think (and I imagine others do as well) that learning equates to taking action and while it is valuable to always be learning, it does us little good if that knowledge just stays in our heads.
So with this first site, I finally decided to just do something, make some mistakes, learn from them, and do it better the next time. You know what, it worked. When I stumbled upon a possible second niche idea, the research part was easier and the planning was clearer. I mind-mapped out the site design and monetization strategy in about ten minutes. Now to start building.
Another thing that I've noticed is that now that I'm more focused on WA and creating my site, I'm noticing more opportunities for different niche sites. Just more evidence that the more we focus on something, the more our brain provides us with what we are looking for.
So that's where I'm at now. I've enjoyed the challenge and the process. I'm looking forward to repeating and improving on it and making it pay off. Take care.
