Easy tip: The Checklist
So I thought I'd share a easy little tip I heard the other day while listening to Pat Flynn's Smart Passive Income podcast. He was talking about how he has an actual folder for each income stream that he has (niche sites, iPhone apps, info products, etc) and in the folder he has a walk-through checklist of the process he follows for each.
The checklist covers each steps he needs to take to start developing whatever that particular list is related too. He also mentions that in each list, at various places he'll have a "Stop" which is means he's reached a place in the process that he can work on a different project because he's waiting for an action to occur on his current project (app is sent to a coder, waiting for graphic design, etc).
I thought this was a really cool idea because as I was walking through the process here at WA again for a new website, I was thinking there are some steps that I would rearrange now that I'm more familiar with the process, like creating a new user right from the beginning so I don't have to go back in and change all that after the fact for example.
Not that there is anything wrong with the process here at WA but as you become more familiar with it, you can begin to layer the steps together from all the certification courses and other trainings that are here. Also, having it in one checklist will keep you from having to click back through all the individual lessons which would be a time-saver.
So I'm going to begin working on my "niche website" checklist. One last thing that will be really handy about creating your own checklist, is as you learn more from each of the certification courses, affiliate bootcamp, or live training webinars, you'll be able to add new steps into your checklist that makes sense for you and how you do things creating a truly customized process for you to follow in the future.
