Top 200 at wealthy affiliate
I am very happy today that I have reached the TOP 200 at WA.
It was a pleasant surprise to be greeted with a CONGRATULATIONS message this morning, and that is just the kind of thing you need to get the day started right.
In the big picture, at level 200, the rankings are no major achievement. It is still a long way to the top. I don't know if I will climb much higher. I doubt it.
And I still don’t know how they work. I can see that advancement might be the combined result of positive communication on the site, coupled with a decline of the efforts of others. Rankings are based on communication, not learning.
My Certification has slowed on level 4. My knowledge of social media, and my ability to get to grips with it, has been a problem, still not yet resolved.
I am a content writer, a communicator, a student of life, a thinker and a doer.
I am not a socials media fan. All the platforms irritate me in one way and another.
In my previous work as a printer, marketing was done through business cards, leaflets, the telephone and yellow pages. The multi-tentacled monster of social media is for me an alien concept, and a tough opponent. I am just not wired up that way.
So being in the TOP 200 does not make me a better person, or get me any more money today.
What it does do is remind me of the great time I have had here at WA over the last 3 months and 3 weeks.
Yes, it’s four months next week. My learning has been an excellent experience. I have a website with 100% gradings on all fronts except trust, which is 30% because of the limited time it has been live. I have a plan for 2017 which is taking shape. I have met some great people from all over the world and enjoyed the conversations.
So time for a reflective day off today, and then back to work tomorrow with a new spring in the step.

as you say this is through your sharing and help within the community.
i know your feelings on te social media side and have tried to promote my sites through organic traffic. it is very slow and my little forays into twitter and fb have shown the results are there.
it may be worth thinking of twitter as the new way of passing business cards over - except you are passing your post for others to read.
this time you can see how many people have read your card and change the information for the next time if they don't like it. you can also put your information within site of people with the same interests, but this is getting into paid ads.
i wish you well with getting to grips with the social media side,
don't think of it as social media think of it as placing ads in front of people to come and see your site. they must be interested in your information to come to your site, so how are you going to tempt them in?
go back to the advertising copy days and bring that to the fore. you don't have to interact too much, but they need to see that you are human not a spammer. think of this as a one sided phone call to clients.

Congratulations Chris, getting to the top 200, is a reflection of your involvement in the Wealthy Affiliate (WA) community and should be recognized. The social media thing is the new way of marketing. In my brick and mortar business, walk by, referrals, yellow pages etc., were the norm for marketing. Today we have to move with how potential customers communicate and do business. I get less contacts from advertising in local newspapers and the yellow pages, compared to my website.

This indeed, is a great achievement Chris! Granted, it doesn't put money in your pocket, but it's a great feeling to know that our efforts to help and share with others, gets rewarded!
And to have 100% grading on your website on all fronts, except one, is a tremendous feat!!!
