first of all when you think of building your own site what Is one thing that scares you the most? For me it is writing my own content . I am here to tell you it's not that scary. Also people seem to think they need to be a writer to write a website.You do not need to be Shakespeare to write content for your site. Content is all about being informative but easy to read headlines

For example

At the top I have first heading here

Then my next heading here

Article here

Then another one here with some nice pictures

Is easiler to read then no headings.text here text here

Text text here all filled with text.

I also find bullet points easier to read when listing things.

Pictures and your content

Make sure your pictures are not making your content harder to read example

Pictures in the middle of your paragraph make it harder To read try aligning your picture to one side or use a thumbnail size if necessary

Finding Your Voice

Overall I would say content writing is easier then you would think make sure your writing about something you enjoy. I would say it is mostly about practicing. Enough practice you should find your voice.
