Where I'm At
Good day to you all,
Having joined up with WA for just under a month now, I've been and still am, quite busy with the training (right now I'm just working through the latter part of Level 2), soI haven't yet shared a whole lot with the community thus far, my apologies, but there's just so darned much to learn (loving every minute of it though).
Ive got my website up and running, though still in it's infancy - it's starting to come together, yet there's still an awful lot of tasks to work through and wrinkles to iron out.
Well, I guess i'm kind of going public - got to get a handle posting on the social networks, so today I would like to start a conversation on a step by step procedure about how to properly set up a facebook account and configure the profile settings.
Up until now I kept a low profile and didn't want SFA of my personal info going viral (I guess living in the surveillance age has made me a little paranoid but I'll try to get over it). I have decided that I will use my real first name in all the networks because I beleive it lends credibility, and credibility is pretty important in the business world (I hear it works pretty well socially too, but maybe that's just me).
So I would like to introduce myself properly to all of you (but you may still use crazytrain if you want - an italian lady I know calls me "Il Potso Treno" which means "the crazy train" in italian ). My friends can call me Joe and/or crazytrain, or Il Potso Treno, it's all fine with me.
So without further ado, Let's talk about facebook account profiles. I don't know about anyone else but it seems to me that the more I try to fathom their instructions the more I want to pull out my hair, sometimes when I edit and save, I go back to review and find it wasn't saved after all. Is it necessary to have a personal profile or should I just do a business page for posting content?
Google+ is kind of hinky also, Twitter is a little more understandable (although I don't know how a person will go about posting much content when limited to a max of around 160 characters unless there's a special place for that such as a blogging page - hey, maybe I'll just post a zip file there, gotta wonder what that would do to page rankings eh?).
Anyway, I'm just concerned with facebook for now. Once I get that nailed, then I;ll go on to the others. So, go on up to the podium and talk my ear off.
Choo Choo and thanks!

Hi joe. It should be easy enough to set up a face book account. If you have any further probs, give me a shout. I used a gmail address. That might be better? Im in ireland and im off to bed. Nite nite all
OK, I would like to post an update here by mentioning that I received an email notification from Kyle that was probably sent out to everyone in reference to Certification Training level 4 which deals entirely with details on effectively using social networks for IM properly, with a specific section on facebook in lesson 3.
Gee! Level 2, lesson 6 would have me already using facebook - Oh well!
From what little reading I did so far in this section, I take it that you start by building a circle of friends with people you know, stay engaged and not spam them, slowly expand but avoid the troublemakers.
So now I can happily go back to my lessons on level 2 and sleep a little better.

Hi Odessa, yeah I think I'm gonna ride it all the way. I'm glad you're still with us and I hope all is going well for you.

Thanks Angelsway, I'm in the middle of some other things right now but when I'm ready to continue the setup (I've already signed up, just have very little info on my profile), I'll give you a dingle under your profile here at WA
Rest well!.
