GROW model in business
When we start a business, whether it is an affiliate marketing business or anything else, we might not expect that there is always a setback, and we might ask ourselves:
“Is this for me? …
“ Am I good enough at it?..
“Am I smart enough for it?”
Or we might tell ourselves:
“Something is wrong with me.”
“I am not good enough; I need to back into my comfort zone.”
It is obvious that we have doubts because we started something new in our life. Every single person experiences this in their business and in their life. So, it is a naive thing not to anticipate their arrival.
But if we have got a GROW model in our head:
G: Goals
R: Resources
O: Obstacles
W: Way forward
If we anticipate the obstacles and we know they’re coming, we can make a plan of overcome them.
If we go through this process: of setting goals, exploring resources, uncovering obstacles, and setting a route forward, we’re going to move toward what we need to do.
We have to move our attention to what available things we have now.
It is a realization for us. This is focusing on solutions because resources allow us to achieve our goals. We are focusing on what we do want. If the resources are not in our awareness, we can’t utilize them.
When we anticipate some obstacles that could sabotage our goals, we don’t want to pay attention to the problems too much, but it is ok to be in awareness of certain things that might be obstacles in our life to reach our goals.
It would be ignorant and naive not to deal with them because these things could be present from the start. And if we don’t anticipate their arrival, they severely affect us.
When we start a business we will question ourselves, we will think we are not good enough at it. We will explore opportunities and jump out of opportunities because they seem to be scary for us. But if we know these things arrive, we can overcome them. This GROW model could be a powerful help.
