Milestones to Celebrate
Last Monday was my Mom's 100th birthday, so I flew to PA to help her celebrate that milestone. She is doing well and her mind is good, so that's a blessing. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines a milestone as a "significant point in development," which sums up my moms birthday very well. Oh, the changes she's seen in 100 years of living! Despite all that she's accomplished over the years of her life, there are still some things that she wants to accomplish. Don't we all have those?
WA Milestones
In Wealthy Affiliate, we have those significant milestones too. We celebrate our accomplishments along the way whether big or small, because they are significant points in our learning and online marketing development. We get our sites active, get indexed by Google, write posts, have individuals leave comments, share our posts on social media, get organic traffic to our sites, start making sales, have new members sign up with WA, and then many members choose to start the process all over by building a new website once the original one is up and going strong.
Those are quite a few milestones, but like the goals that someone might have during 100 years of living, they take time to achieve. No, our goals here shouldn't take 100 years, but sometimes what happens can slow us down, take us on detours, cause us to re-think our direction, or totally change where we end up. Our goals and milestones may not happen as fast as we desire, but that's okay so long as we keep going and push through to reach the major and minor milestones. Like a farmer plants seeds and patiently waits for the crops to come up, we do the same here. We take action and we look and wait for the results to come.
Other Milestones
Meanwhile, while working on our sites and learning how to do what we want to do and how to build what we came to build, we are developing in other ways as well. Maybe you hadn't considered that. Think about it. Someone who has been impatient may learn how to become more patient while working through the training and applying it. So we also have the opportunity to develop (or hone) other aspects of our lives like our communication skills, goal-setting, planning, patience, determination, perseverence, and how we handle failures and successes. These too can be milestones for some.
Keep Celebrating!
So while you may be working on the training and on building your online businesses, whatever your goals are and whatever WA milestones you've accomplished here so far---way to go! Keep going and keep celebrating those milestones, because there will always be more to achieve, and we will always be molded and changed by the process of getting to where we want to go.

That's what I do, Irene! I do spend as much time with her as I can. I chat with her daily and visit often. I figured that her milestone achievement would encourage our milestone accomplishments.
Wow what a blessing for your mother to celebrate her 100th birthday and to still want to accomplish things. She is an example for all to follow, that despite her age she has not stopped.

Yes, it's a blessing to see someone speaking up for others and wanting to help others no matter how small the task may seem. She's a good role model for doing our best and being our best no matter what our age may be. :)

Hello Cecilia! Thank you for your kind words. We had a lovely celebration with Mom on her birthday. On December 15th, my Mom graduated and transitioned to heaven. We miss her, but my goodness, she had a long, wonderful life! We are not sad, we are blessed with many great memories. :)
