Checking In After A While

I haven't blogged in a while. I have been in my own little world lately, and I am sure you all can relate.

There are a few things that I would like to share with the community. My Three Year Anniversary is fast approaching. Here are a few hightlights-

• While holed away inside (like the rest of the world) I was able to produce two very 'fat' posts one about sharks and another about the native plants of Southern Californa,with each having close to 15,000 words
• I found a great reference to use, but it was stated that permission was needed to cite. So I contacted the owner of the website, who is a very prominent shark researcher. He later called me to clarify what I could use. I can not tell you how excited I was to speak with him! It was amazing. He also said that he would link my post to his newsletter.
• A few of my photos have been used and cited for a North County San Diego community newsletter.
• About a year ago, a Brazilian travel agency contacted me via email, asking to use a few of my beach photos for an advertisement.
• I have been able to increase my traffic by quite a bit. When I first started out, I would only get about 50 visitors per week, but just last week I broke my personal best by having 1257 views!
• Last December, I tried my very first email campaign to promote Wealthy Affiliate. I was excited to see that I have over 250 subscribers. The campaign was a bust, but by accident, I found out that I actually have 1445 subscribers now. Now I have to figure out what to do next
• My Google Map photos are up to over 100,000 views a day.
• I was able to get over 170,000 Pinterest views in three days while promoting one of my posts.
• My last three posts made page one on Bing and Yahoo on the first day
• I have had four people reach out to me to thank me for the information that I provided on my website

I think I might be an anomaly here as I am not trying to sell anything as yet. Ideally, my main goal is to get traffic, so I keep plugging away!
