Working anywhere in the world ~ my dream has come true
Talk about an annoyance for the week!
Many parts of South Africa and her neighbours are undergoing the wettest March in 14 years. Many areas of the country are experiencing power outages as our power utility battles to provide service under difficult circumstances. In my neighbourhood the challenge is a little different. We have been without power since Sunday as a fellow citizen accidently removed a street light with his car while experiencing a sneezing attack! The old gentleman was happily not seriously injured and he suffered some concussion and a few minor cuts but the neighbourhood is suffering a rather unpleasant knock-on effect.
Laundry remains un-laundered, carpets un-vacuumed, fridges un-cooled, freezers un-frosted, kettles un-boiled... you get the picture. In my case I found a positive. I am suddenly inspired to go to gym every day (rather than once or twice a week) and after a workout I get to hit the shower. Oh happy highlight of the day! The other positive is that the freezer's long overdue defrosting and cleaning actually happened, whoopee.
I have spent the past 2 days working at Mugg & Bean in Cresta mall. Quite pleasant but I'm so over it now. I long for the comfort of my own chair at my desk and the ability to take a break in any fashion that pleases me. I can't exactly take a 20 minute power nap at my restaurant table! Furthermore I am on a 90 day challenge to get my primary business up and earning, which is why I might need a power nap at times and I cannot work for long after I return home if no power for my laptop to stay alive. My planned 14 hour days have been cut almost in half and my restaurant and car fuel expenses have gone up.
Initially the repair was to be completed by Friday, yes folks, five and a half days. I am very satisfied to report that there has been some surprise progress to the extent that by tomorrow things may be back in working order in our neck of the woods. Here's hoping, I've had about enough of the mall experience, grateful as I am for having had the option.
That's one more item ticked on my "bucket" list; being able to work from anywhere in the world. I didn't imagine it quite like this though, time to work on my Vision!

That's one of my main goal here at WA, to manage an online business from anywhere in the world. Good luck!
thanks. Next time I have to work from somewhere else I hope it's in a nice exotic location.
