Saturday Night Hockey, Disappointment Included

I’ll be honest — my team has tested my patience lately.

I just sat through back-to-back losses to the Charlotte Checkers, the reigning Calder Cup champions, and that’s never an easy pill to swallow. Watching it happen once is rough. Watching it happen twice, in person, really tests your loyalty.

The good news?
Tonight they’re playing a different team.

And I’m very thankful for that — because I’m not sure I could emotionally handle another game against the same opponent right now 😄

There’s something about a new matchup that feels like a reset. Different energy. Different pace. A chance to show that the last couple games actually taught something.

I’m not expecting miracles. I’m just hoping to see:

• better effort
• tighter play
• and a little pushback

When you’re in the arena, that stuff matters. You feel it immediately — or you don’t.

Being a fan means showing up even when things haven’t gone your way. I’ll (hopefully) be there again tonight, cautiously optimistic and ready to see if this one feels different.

Here’s hoping it does.
