Changing theme?

My theme doesn't have a clear, black text to it. I read someone else who had the same challenge and wondered how to fix it. Carson suggested a new theme. Can you tell by looking at the themes in the preview if it has the clear black or do you have to keep changing until you see what you want? I would sure appreciate ay help you could give me. It's so great to always be able to ask and then receive assistance. Thanks Wealthy Affiliate community!

I agree with what everyone has said here, Carla. If you really like your theme, change it instead of getting a new one. You will probably need to spend a lot of time putting everything back in place. As to the lettering, the themes, from my limited experience, look exactly like you see them in the preview screens. Good Luck! I know this has been bothering you.

Yes it has (been bothering me) Carla. Thank you.

I would try the help files in WordPress and see if you can find something you want or an explanation of how to change the text. They might be able to help.

If you donn´really like it you better change it, but if there are small things that you don´t like, you might learn how to change them to avoid changing your theme.

I changed theme, had to "redecorate" my whole site, Not a picture was on its place, Text didnot have the same look. So if you change, make yourself up for a lot of adjustment work, and then, you could be lucky. Just save your old site first, so you can turn back if it looks impossible. Loes

By what you and Patti have said I WILL be sure before I do it!

TOTALLY agree, Loes. It's a very big hassle and a ton of work to fix, especially when you aren't familiar with how the new theme works. :(

Forgot to say.... When you change themes it isn't as easy as it sounds. It throws the images off, fonts are often different, and things can be grossly out of alignment.

If you really do not like your theme, it's well worth the hassle to change (I did it and am much happier w new theme!). But if it's just small irritants, I'd learn how to overcome those instead of changing themes.

Tried changing the color of the text, chose the darkest black possible and it didn't change. Aargh! I'll probably be calling you Patti. Thanks!

Any time! I'm home today, as you know. :)

Carla if you need help w changing text color give me a buzzzz.

I'll try Tribes suggestion, cross your fingers!

I agree with Kim, if you like your theme otherwise, maybe just change the colour of the text!

When you first click on Build My Website (the lighter Blue Button) about half way don if you click on the appearances link; and then select themes; you will note that you have the option to select a new theme. You can pull in a think up to about 7 or 8 new themes here. You can then preview them to see what you think. You site will appear. sort of like magic in the skin of the new theme, without you making the switch.
You can go out to the list of the 2400 plus themes and decide which ones you want to pull into this small batch of 7 or 8 to take a look at. You can then rotate out the ones You don't like by deleting them, and bring in new ones to sample.

Oh my goodness I do remember seeing that. Really appreciate it.

Glad to help!

Thank-you , I never would have figured that out! More input more input.

I kept trying different themes till I found one I liked. If you like your theme but not the text then I'd go with Kim's suggestion :)

Onward, thank you!

1

I just highlight the text and then picked the color black when I have light text. Usually makes it darker.

2

I'll try that. Thanks Kim.

I know I brought some text in from an affiliate link and it was light, I did that and darkened right up. :))
