My Backstory – How It All Started

How did I let it get to this...

So todays' story is about where I've come from.

Grab a snack, have a drink, its only short but I think it’s important for me to tell you a little about myself.

In the beginning it seemed like a regular Tuesday morning, in fact it was eerily peaceful…

As the sun rose from the horizon welcoming all to this new day there wasn’t a cloud to be seen.

The blinds were angularly drawn revealing a seemingly fairy-tale themed blue sky and an alluring beam of the suns radiant glow.

A beautiful girl lying next to me, still had my great hair and killer smile seemed intact ;).

But something was up…

Something was definitely a miss…

I couldn’t move… I was debilitated… Being choke held from some unknown force.

I quickly checked for Jedi or Darth Vader… Nothing…

Was this me?..

What is this feeling…

Pain, regret, fear, weakness, shame, guilt remorse, sorrow, torment, hardship, despair, hopelessness I don’t know?.. I was hurting!

Why why…

Why is this happening?

Why all this misery for no reason?

Or maybe there is a reason…

What did I have to do today?

Go to work? My Job?

That’s all I had to do?

Could it be simply the thought of going to work be arousing these types of feelings and reaction?

Turns out it was!

My Job…

I felt sick, my body started to ache trying to justify reasons not to go to work… the office… the cubicle… hell!

It’s a sorry place when the highlight of your day is greeting the doorman when you arrive and the appreciative friendly wave and wink when you leave.

The emotional exhaustion knowing once your shift starts, you and everyone around you turn into robotic slaves doing only what you have been programmed and trained

to do.

Back to Tuesday morning, I know I had no valid reason, but there’s no way I was going to work that day.

I took a few minutes to recall my drama classes in school and finally made the “sick” call.

With the weight lifted off my shoulders I needed to investigate.

This can’t have just happened overnight there must have been a build up...

How did I let it get to this point?

When did I lose control?

I remember getting this job… I choose this!

This was my goal.

I wanted to be earning xxxx income.

I wanted to work in xxxx industry.

I had made it.

I thought this was success?

Surely not! This can’t be…

F**k No!

This has to change!

I sourced two quotes, stuck them in front of me and got to work!

“What got you here won’t get you there”

“Nothing will change unless you make it change”

The first step…

I just put myself in the position to be motivated and started taking action.

I became the opportunity seeker and action taker.

Reaching out to people doing exactly what I wanted to do.

Studying and modeling their success and lifestyle patterns then formulated a plan of attack…

This is actually just a snippet :)
